National Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated annually in the United States from September 15- October 15 and recognizes the influence of Hispanic Americans on the history, culture and achievements of the U.S. Columbus is fortunate to have a rich and vibrant Latino community. International & Global will be celebrating each week with different activities ranging from a door decoration contest and spirit week.

This month, consider supporting locally owned and operated Latinx businesses to celebrate and learn about the many cultures, traditions, and customs of our Latino/Hispanic community members. Click the photo to explore the "Experience Columbus" list of Latinx owned businesses in Columbus.

• Monday 10/7 Jersey Day/Wear your favorite jersey from your country

• Tuesday 10/8 Flag day - wear colors of your flag or paint your face with the colors of your flag

• Wednesday 10/9 - Dress as your favorite Hispanic childhood character

• Thursday 10/10 - Wear neon colors to highlight Hispanic Heritage month

• Friday 11/10 - Culture Day/Represent your culture or country

Welcome to a new school year! My name is Marybel Perez Ridley and I am the Family Ambassador at Columbus International High School.

My role as Family Ambassador is to share tips, tools, and strategies that can further connect learning experience between classroom and home, host educational opportunities for families and connect families to community and district resources.
