Kott's Korner
Thank you to all of the families that attended the Halloween Dance. We are so grateful for all the work that the PTC put in to make the dance a success. Events like these take a large number of volunteers and many donations. We appreciate your support!
Davisburg was buzzing with excitement on Halloween! Thank you to everyone that sent in supplies, materials, and treats, as well as those able to join in the fun. It is always a great time seeing our students dressed up and enjoying themselves.
Did your child tell you about the Springfield Township Fire Department visiting us this week? Did you review your family’s plan and meeting spot? This is a great time to talk about what the firefighters shared with our students. Being prepared is so important. I am grateful to have these wonderful men and women in our community helping to educate us and keep us safe.
Each day, I am energized by the smiling faces, hugs and high fives I receive from Davisburg students. What an amazing group of children! Thank you for providing me the honor to be part of your child’s education.
Truly,
Denise Kott

We would be honored for veterans, active service members, and guests to attend this special celebration. We hope to see you on Wednesday, November 13th.
Child Safe Kits
Davisburg Elementary is now offering Child Safe Kits for your family, through American Income Life.
We encourage each family to review the flyer, fill out and return the reply card to their classroom in order to participate.
This kit is endorsed by the International Union of Police Associations and designed to be prepared in the case of a child going lost or missing. The kit is known to save law enforcement more than 90 minutes when it is filled out!
You received a flyer in your child’s take-home folder last week. If you are interested in receiving this kit, you can Click Here or fill out the card on the flyer. For online submissions, just write 'submitted online' on the card and return to the classroom. Please make sure to return this by Monday, Nov. 11.
The kit has a place for your child’s personal information, photo, physical description, and fingerprints. This is something you will keep.
The classroom with the highest participation will also receive a pizza party!
If you choose to fill out the flyer and request the kit, a representative from American Income will contact you to deliver the kit(s). For any questions, you can reach out directly to the AIL PR Representative. Jamie Beuschel at 616-275-2978.
School wide Fundraiser
Your student should have brought home the fundraiser paperwork for the greenery from Mickman Brothers Inc. If you are looking to decorate this year please consider supporting our students LEAD program with a purchase.
Christmas Assistance
Applications are now available from Holly Area Youth Assistance for the 2024 Jacobson-Quinn Toy Project. This Project has been an annual event in our community since 1982 when Dick Jacobson (a former HAS teacher) and Doug Quinn (a former HAYA social worker) started the program to ensure that every child in the Holly community receives a Christmas present. The program is funded by individuals, businesses, churches, and civic organizations who donate toys and/or money to this project.
This HAYA program is for qualifying youth who live within the geographic area of the Holly Area School District in Oakland County, Michigan. This project is on a financial need and a first come – first-serve basis as long as the supplies last. HAYA will do its best to service the qualified local families that apply.
If you need help this Christmas, please print the form below and return it to us at 14470 N. Holly Road, Holly MI 48442. You can also email your completed form to HAYA4kids63@gmail.com. If you are unable to print the form, you can contact the HAYA office at 248-328-3181 and leave a message, or pick one up from your school office. We do our best to ensure confidentiality. You will be contacted to schedule a pick up time on December 15th.
The DEADLINE TO APPLY Is Monday, December 2nd!
Merry Christmas from all of us at HAYA!!

Leader in Me & Core Competencies
The Leader in Me Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind
Beginning with the end in mind means having a plan. This includes having a clearly defined vision and purpose. One way to work on this habit is to set long term goals. By committing to a goal and monitoring your progress, you are working toward greatness. Be sure to ask your child about the learning and/or behavior goals they set at school. To learn more about Habit 2, see the link below.
