HI Everyone,

October 31 will be our Fall Parade. It will be held on the playground at 2:30. If you would like to pick your children up from the parade you are welcome to do so. Assigned staff will be at tables at the front door and the two gym doors with sign out sheets. Parents will sign their children out & IDs checked (this is also a sign in for parents) and head to the classroom. Only one parent per child will be allowed in the school. We will not be dismissed from the playground! If the person taking your child up is not the parent or guardian, we must have a note in advance. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our students safe.

The canned food drive begins November 1st and will end on November 20, 2024. These cans provide needed food for families in our school and community during the holidays. Let’s all help take care of others by providing food to families who need our support. Please bring in Thanksgiving non-perishable foods starting November 1st. Other food items always needed are corn, green beans, peas, baked beans, fruit, soup, peanut butter, jelly, tuna, chicken, ravioli, beef stew, chili, pineapple, pasta, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, hamburger and tuna helper, cereal and instant oatmeal.

Vision and hearing screenings at Montgomery Elementary will be on the following dates for the 2024-25 school year.

Kindergarten October 22 and October 23

First grade October 24

Third grade October 29

If your child does not pass the vision and/or hearing screening, a second screening will be conducted by the school nurse. If your child does not pass the second screening, a referral will be mailed to you recommending further evaluation by a vision and/or hearing specialist.

Congratulations to our students and families on a fantastic first quarter of attendance! Your commitment to getting your kids to school supports their learning and growth—thank you!

As winter approaches, illness often increases. If your child sees a physician during an illness, please request a medical excuse noting the dates of absence. You can email it or send it with your child. These notes help ensure that your student's attendance record is accurate. Thank you for your cooperation!
