Parking Around Pleasant Lane
The streets with access "closest" to the school are designated as drop-off or pick-up and do not allow for parking. Please follow the rules, it makes the whole process run more smoothly. Pleasant Ln and Berkshire have some designated parking areas, but not directly in front of the school. If you'd like to park and walk up to drop-off or greet your child at the end of the day, please follow the parking signs on Charlotte.

The evening has been designed to accommodate as many families as possible. If you have more than one child in the same grouping, please contact your child’s teacher to make arrangements to obtain distributed information. All teachers can be reached by calling the main office, 630-827-4640 or on the website at www.sd44.org.
Safety and Security Drills
- Fire
- Severe Weather
- Security / Law Enforcement
- Bus Safety and Evacuation
During these drills your child may be faced with hearing loud bells/alarms, sirens and flashing strobes. Of course, our intent is not to frighten the children, but these alarms have been created with the intent to be sure everyone is aware of the situation.
We will spend a great deal of time reviewing this with your child. If you feel it is important, you may want to spend some time reviewing this with your child as well.
If you have any questions, please contact your child's teacher or the main office, 630-827-4640.
Change in Lunch Prices for the 2022-2023 School Year
The USDA waiver that allowed most school districts to serve free breakfast and free lunch to all students throughout the pandemic has expired. Therefore, this fall, Lombard District 44 will transition back to traditional meal service at our schools.
What does that mean for your family?
- Breakfast and Lunch is still available at all K-8 schools
- The cost of breakfast, which includes milk, is $1.75.
- The cost of a hot lunch, which includes milk, is $3.10 per day.
- The cost of milk alone is $.50.
- Monthly menus will soon be posted on the district website which is www.sd44.org > Parents > Lunch Menus.
There will be paid, free, and reduced-priced eligibilities for students
Prices for your child will be based on your household’s meal benefit status.
The application for free and reduced meals can be found on our website SD44.org > Parents>Food Service or by clicking here.
You can find more information by clicking here and scrolling down to the category "Additional Individual Documents."
Families should also be aware that schools are also facing many of the same challenges with the supply chain in receiving necessary food items. When this happens, school nutrition
professionals will do everything they can to serve an alternate, healthy option to your child. We will continue to communicate with you when this occurs.
Lunchroom Monitor
This is a great way to see and interact with our children throughout the week. If you are not available five days a week for this time period, I would consider working with any qualified individual in finding a schedule that works to meet all of our needs.
