Message for the Week:
Message from Mr. Tejkl
Your best effort is what matters..
Good morning!
I hope your weekend is going well and you really loved the Spring Forward that we had! We are on to longer days of sunshine and hopefully some more consistent weather that is above freezing! Thank you again for your flexibility and patience when it comes to Late Starts or No School Days. It is never a fun balancing act but I continue to do my best with putting our students and staff's safety first in parameters of winter driving conditions.
As we come to a close for the 3rd quarter, I just want to say thank you again for your continued effort on making Shelby-Rising City Public Schools a place to be and thrive! It takes all of us rowing together and in the same direction. All of us make an impact on, with, or for each other. Don't forget that it is okay to not have your 100% best each day! It is important to recognize that your best effort matters and whatever % you end up at, that is your best for the day. It is tough to recognize when we believe we "fall short" but you are not. We may stumble but we keep moving forward. We may not be 100% but we give 100% of effort that can be mustered. That is what counts and that is what makes each of you an important piece to SRC.
It's crucial to acknowledge that the definition of "your best" is fluid, not fixed. Some days, your best might be shown as a burst of high-energy productivity, while on others, it might simply mean getting through the day with quiet resilience. Factors like stress, health, and emotional well-being can all influence our mental capacities. Rather than fixating on a rigid standard of peak performance, prioritize consistent effort. The act of showing up, of applying yourself to the task at hand, is where true value lies. Recognizing that your effort, not just the outcome, is what truly matters allows for self-compassion and sustainable progress. It's in the consistent application of effort, even when it feels small, that you build momentum and achieve meaningful results over time.
If you haven't heard it yet today, let me be the first to give you a pat on the back, I am proud of you!
Have a great rest of your Sunday!
Quote of the week to reflect on:
"Sometimes the hardest decisions are only meant to be made because a better purpose is waiting. Closing one door to walk through another doesn't mean goodbye. It means believing in yourself and intuition to create your best self in the unknown."
Brittany Burgunder
Sincerely,
Tucker Tejkl
