Finishing Strong...
May 3, 2024
It was the 2016 World Series. Game 7. Up until this point, the Cubs were crushing it. This was their best season in 108 years. But at this moment in their season, they were crumbling. Only four outs away from their first championship to break the curse, they had just blown a 3-run lead, and the Indians had all the momentum going into extra innings. Yet in the face of adversity, Cubs outfielder Jason Heyward called a players-only meeting in the locker room during a rain delay. He told his teammates that while some things hadn’t gone well, they could still do it, if they stayed positive and if they could stick together. Other players chimed in with positive comments, and suddenly, they had a second wind. We all know the ending to this story as the Cubs went on to win the game in dramatic fashion.
At Everett, it’s Game 7 of the school year. We’re all tired, running on fumes, I'm transitioning, and we all can't wait to get to summer. But I beg you to stay with me. Please lean on me if you need anything. As I move into my new role, I encourage you to consider having an exit interview with me to share any feedback you have for me or thoughts about the district. I would love to connect.
Thank you and know how much I appreciate you!
All my best,
Coach Fitz

Board of Education Seeks New Member - District 67
District 67 Board of Education announced the resignation of Mrs. Alice LeVert, effective April 30. The Board is grateful to Mrs. LeVert, who has served since 2017, for her contributions to the District and wish her well in her newly elected position on the Lake Forest City Council.
Following the Illinois School Code, the responsibility for filling the vacant position now rests with the remaining board members. They have a 60-day window from Mrs. LeVert's resignation date to accomplish this task. Failure to fill the position within this timeframe will shift the responsibility to the Regional Superintendent of Schools.
The Board encourages all interested and qualified individuals that wish to serve on the Board to submit an application. Completed applications must be received by 5:00 pm on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. Once the Board of Education has reviewed the applications, selected candidates will be interviewed, and an appointee will be installed at the District 67 Board Meeting on June 18, 2024.
NEW Walk Your Wheels Video From the City of Lake Forest
Walk your wheels applies to everyone, Lake Forest! Riders must dismount and walk their devices within the Central Business District boundaries to avoid a fine of up to $300 per offense. Last year, Lake Forest City Council approved an ordinance prohibiting the use of recreational powered devices (electric scooters, electric bikes, etc.) on sidewalks in the Central Business District.
