We are bringing back our Mobile Husky Carts! Based on a rotating weekly schedule, staff will deliver a cart full of Husky Store items to the classroom so that students can spend their well-earned Husky Bucks! We appreciate donations of toy and snack items to keep our carts stocked.

Join us for a special evening showcasing the incredible talent of AUSD students from Kinder through High School!
What: Art Exhibit featuring Award of Excellence, Award of Merit, and Honorable Mention recipients
When: Thursday, January 23, 4–7 PM
Where: Gallery Nucleus, 210 E. Main St., Alhambra, CA 91801
Admission is FREE! Explore stunning works from six categories: Visual Arts, Illustration Photography, Literature, Dance Choreography, and Film Production. Don’t miss this chance to celebrate the creativity and hard work of our talented students!

Career Day 2025 – 2/21
Calling all passionate professionals and Tradespeople!
Monterey Highlands Elementary PTA is gearing up for an incredible 2025 Career Day, and we need YOUR expertise to inspire our students!
- Are you enthusiastic about your career?
- Do you have a unique story to share?
- We want a diverse range of speakers!
Join us in shaping young minds and broadening horizons. Whether you’re a scientist, artist, entrepreneur, or have a fascinating career journey, we want to hear from you!
Speakers will present to 4 classes for 10-15 minutes each, with 5 minutes reserved for questions. Career Day is targeted for our 3rd-8th grade students.

Drama Club presents "Frozen Kids" - coming March 20 and 21
Drama Club students on the cast and crew of "Frozen Kids" performed a preview number at the January 15 PTA Association Meeting. The production is led by Ms. Gennie Cheng (acting director) and Ms. Victoria Perez (dance director). Great job, Huskies! We can't wait for the show! Thank you to PTA for supporting the production!!

The Associated Student Body (ASB) oversees all fundraising and school activities at Monterey Highlands. The ASB Cabinet meets most weeks to review activity and fundraising requests.
Useful ASB Information:
ASB produces our monthly Wonderful Wednesday virtual assembly. In the month of January, 3rd Grade teaches us how to show Perseverance. Our morning PA messages to start the week will also focus on this theme.

Monterey Highlands is always bustling with activity! Here's some of what our students were up to lately!
- Campus Improvements including privacy banner, tetherball poles (and balls), window decals, furniture and signage in the Kinder Yard were all recently installed
- PTA Math Night (1.15.25) was a huge success! Thank you to our partners Mathnasium for putting on a wonderful event. Thank you to the Highlands Service Club for staffing the math game tables!]
- Inaugural Highlands Spelling Bee (1.15.25) was riveting and went several rounds! The 4/5 Division and 6-8 Division Winners move on to the AUSD Spelling Bee on 2.5.25. Good luck!
