Early Release Info: Please READ!
Attention Glads! We have reached the time of the year for parent/teacher conferences. Please pay close attention to the schedules below. On Tuesday, October 16, we will operate on a Monday schedule with students reporting to all 7 periods. Wednesday through Friday, we will operate on a shortened schedule as school will dismiss at 1:30 pm. Please plan accordingly. Detailed schedules are below. Parents, if you have not been contacted for a conference, please reach out to your student's Advisement Teacher as soon as possible. It is imperative that you stay updated on your student's progress. Progress reports will be distributed during parent conferences. Parents please enter the building for conferences through the Front Office/Mell Lobby entrance. A guide will be available to assist you in getting to your designated area.

Athens Career Academy Students:
ACCA Morning Students (Transportation & Lunch Information):
* Normal morning pickup at your high schools to ACCA.
* Buses will pick up at ACCA at 11:00 am to take students back to home high schools .
* ACCA morning students should eat 4th lunch at their home high school, which is from 11:33 - 11:54.
ACCA All Day Students (Transportation & Lunch Information):
* Normal morning pickup at your high schools to ACCA.
* ACCA all day students should eat lunch at ACCA from 10:50 - 11:20.
* Buses will pick up at ACCA at 1:00 pm to take student back to home high schools.
Attendance
One Day Bus Pass Request
All requests must be written and received in the Attendance Office by 10:00 am.
Early Dismissal Request
All requests must be written and received in the Attendance Office upon school arrival. Students that drive to school must have a DISMISSAL REQUEST FORM to leave the parking lot. This form MUST be given to security at the security gate.
Certificate of School Enrollment Forms
Students, if you’re planning to apply for a learner’s permit or driver’s license, the Georgia Department of Driver Services requires a Certificate of School Enrollment. This form is located in the Front Office. Please fill out Part A only and bring to the Attendance Office to be signed. Once it’s signed please take this form back to the Front Office to be notarized. Please bring this form during your lunch period or upon school arrival. Forms will not be signed or notarized during class periods.

If you would like 1-1 assistance to talk about your college plans, complete your college applications or financial aid applications, please make an appointment with your college adviser Ms. Johnson. Parents are also welcomed to schedule meetings along with their student.

Need a fee waiver? If your student needs a fee waiver for SAT and/or ACT exams, they will have to see their College Adviser, Ms. Johnson, in the counseling office.
Here are the test dates and registration deadlines for 2018-2019. A fee waiver will not cover late registration fees, so be sure to register on time.

ASVAB Test Date is November 14, 2018
Students in grades 10-12 are encouraged to register for The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test. The ASVAB is a timed multi-aptitude test that grades you in four critical areas - Arithmetic Reasoning, Word Knowledge, Paragraph Comprehension and Mathematics Knowledge. The ASVAB is the military entrance test and is required for all who plan to enter any branch of military service. However, taking the test does NOT equate to a commitment to join. In addition to determining a person's Armed Forces Qualifying Test (AFQT) score, the ASVAB also provides one of the best Career Interest Inventories available and is therefore relevant to ALL students. The ASVAB provides direction on courses of study in post secondary as well as possible vocations based on individual results and is FREE! Red Ribbon Week Poster Contest
Enter the Healthy Brain Campaign’s Red Ribbon Week Poster Contest! This year’s theme is “Life is a Journey--Travel Drug Free.” Entry should be no larger than a poster board. Theme must be included on the poster board and be the main focus. Must be original artwork. All posters will be judged by a panel of school and community representatives. Youth Leadership Athens 2019 - Final Week for Submissions
Youth Leadership Athens applications are available now! Click on the link to download. This program is available to 10th and 11th grade students and focuses on leadership development, volunteerism/public service, government, arts, and economic development.
This is the final week for applications to be submitted. The Application Deadline is Noon, Friday, October 19, 2018. Completed applications must be returned to the counseling office or mailed to Susan Mull, 330 Skyline Parkway, Athens, GA 30606. Submit your application today!
Grading Guidelines
Students are expected to complete and turn in all assignments, which gives them practice and multiple opportunities to master standards. Assignments are given in order for students to practice and to show what they know, understand, and can do with the Georgia Standards of Excellence. Therefore, students are encouraged to submit missing work and will be allowed to do this until the end of the each grading period (October, December, March, and May); there will be a penalty given for late assignments.

Student Parking Permits
Student parking permits are now on sale. Please make sure you have the parking permit application completely filled out before taking it to Officer Loggins. The cost is $25 cash or check and you will need to have your license and valid proof of insurance for your vehicle.

Seniors
Seniors--It’s time to schedule your senior meeting with your counselor ASAP! Please see Ms. Jewell in the Counseling Office ASAP to schedule your meeting. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend! Counselors will be reviewing progress toward graduation and helping students/parents develop a plan for reaching post-secondary goals. Counselors will also review and finalize the spelling of your name for printing diplomas.

Senior t-shirts are for sale through 10/19/18 (Friday, October 19th). They can be purchased in Mrs. Upton’s room (285). We will not be doing a re-order so please get money in on time. Juniors
Junior Dues for Prom are now $25 and can be paid to Ms. Jones (room #:291) or Ms. Croft (room #: 287) with cash or check. Please make checks out to Clarke Central High School.
Dues will go up to $50 AFTER winter break. We will only take dues BEFORE or AFTER school. This payment covers entrance into prom. If you paid dues as a junior and are now a senior, you do not have to pay again. If you are unsure, or have questions. Please see Ms. Jones (jonesco2@clarke.k12.ga.us) or Ms. Croft (crofta@clarke.k12.ga.us).

Bella's of Distinction is a group that promotes leadership, positivity and unity among young women. Join us Mondays & Wednesdays after school in the Media Center.

The CCHS Mock Trial Team meetings are held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7-9 pm in Room 242.
Mu Alpha Theta
A national honor society for 10th, 11th, 12th grade students with a 90 or above cumulative math average meets on the 2nd Tuesday of every month in Rm 106.
SAGA
SAGA, the Sexuality and Gender Alliance, will meet in room 332 on Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:15. LGBT students and allies are encouraged to come.
Spanish Club
Join us on the first Monday of the month at 8:00 am in room 393. All are welcome, regardless of the language you study! ¡Nos vemos!
