Then the other disciple also went in, the one who had arrived at the tomb first, and he saw and believed. For they did not yet understand the Scripture that he had to rise from the dead.
John 20:8-9
These lines taken from the Gospel of John, remind us of our central identity and mission: our belief in the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Without the power of the Resurrection, all else that we do is in vain. Like John, we too are called to “see and believe.”
Dear SHS Parents, Students, and Staff
As the Easter season unfolds, I extend my warmest greetings to our entire school community. This time of year offers a powerful reminder of renewal, rebirth, and the ever-present hope that guides us. For our students, Easter symbolizes new beginnings and the strength to overcome challenges. We are so proud of their ongoing growth and the positive energy they bring to our school. May this break be a time for rest, reflection, and joy with loved ones.
For our dedicated faculty and staff, Easter serves as a well-deserved moment of respite. Thank you for your tireless dedication in fostering a nurturing environment where our students can learn and flourish. We appreciate your commitment to their success and well-being.
To parents and guardians, may you find peace and renewal during this time of reflection. We are grateful for your partnership in creating a Faith filled and supportive learning community.
As we celebrate Easter, let us remember the spirit of love, compassion, and sacrifice that lies at its core. May these values guide us as we return to school, ready to embrace new beginnings and continue our journey together. Wishing you all a blessed and joyful Easter filled with hope and renewal.
Mrs. Joanna Barlow
Principal

EASTER SEND OFF
Holy Thursday begins what is known as the Easter Triduum: the three days celebrating events surrounding the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This morning SHS attended the 8:30 a.m. Prayer Service at the church and we ended the day with our Jelly Bean Easter send off. All students gathered in the auditorium listening to the Easter story told through the color of jelly beans. Students listened to Bible verses read by our 8th graders. Our younger students colored while our older students worked on an Easter reflection worksheet. We all came together for a closing prayer and students were given Jelly Bean Scripture Candy prior to dismissal.
RE-REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Act quickly classes are filling up! The 2024-2025 re-registration is now open. Click on the register now button on the SHS website for all of the forms and information to register your child for the 24/25 school year. To secure a spot in the classroom and to avoid the April 2 registration fee increase, I highly recommend you re-register as soon as possible.
SPRING PICTURE DAY
Eighth graders will have their graduation pictures taken Monday, April 8th. Young men should wear a white shirt and dark solid color tie. Young ladies should wear something that will not show above the neckline of the graduation gown. (E.G. Don't wear a turtleneck.)
Spring Pictures will also be taken for the rest of the school. If your child is having a spring picture taken, he/she will have a dress down day and be able to wear an outfit that you would like for the picture.
CALENDAR UPDATE MAY 24
Due to an unused snow day, the school calendar has been updated. We will now have Friday, May 24th, off in addition to the previously scheduled Monday, May 27, Memorial Day holiday. This creates a four-day weekend for everyone.
We encourage you to use this extended weekend to honor the memory of fallen heroes and spend time with loved ones. The updated school calendar is available on the school website for your reference.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT
Giving Tuesday is a global day of generosity, when people make donations to all kinds of organizations. Tuesday, November 28 marked the 5th year SHS participated in this global day of giving. Giving Tuesday is not just about money, people can donate time, food and even parts of themselves. With this in mind, we saw Giving Tuesday as a teachable moment for our students. On Giving Tuesday our students pledged to give back by doing something good for others. We reinforced the idea that giving and kindness isn't about a day, it is a way to live our lives.
Sacred Heart School would like to thank all of those people who participated in our Giving Tuesday Campaign. If you missed out and would still like to participate in Giving Tuesday please click here or scan the QR code. Our Campaign runs throughout the school year. Your contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference. Your financial gift will directly contribute to offering the students of Sacred Heart School a dynamic, faith-filled, values centered curriculum that fosters creative thinkers and problem solvers. Thank you for being a part of the Giving Tuesday movement with us!

CAR LINE SAFETY INFORMATION
Over the past few weeks, we have seen some reckless driving during drop off and pick up. In an effort to keep everyone safe, please read below and refresh yourselves with our drop off and pick up procedures.
CAR LINE TIPS ON ARRIVAL
Form 2 lanes. The right lane is for grades K-8, the left lane is for our Pre-K students. Families with students in both PreK and K-8 should stay in the right lane.
When arriving you will be greeted by Father John and myself. Please wait your turn in the car lanes. Once in the drop off area, have your child exit the car. K-8 students will be dropped off in front of the main gym doors. Pre-K will circle around and be dropped off in front of the church. Pre-K Parents please make sure to pull up to the Student Drop Off Ends Here sign so other cars can move in behind you. Our staff on duty will assist in making sure your children arrive safely to their classrooms.
Once you have dropped off your child/children please do not cut out of lane instead wait until the car in front of you moves to exit the campus. When exiting please be mindful that cars may turn in front of you to drop off at preschool or to exit the campus.
CAR LINE TIPS FOR PICK-UP
Form 2 lanes. In the interest of safety for your child/children and others:
Children will not be permitted to enter a car until the car is in front of the auditorium. Please pull all the way up to the "Drop off ends here" sign even if your child is standing in another place.
If one of the car lanes is moving, children must wait until the cars stop moving before going to their car. If you must exit your car to buckle seat belts, we ask that you use the lane closest to the auditorium. Please pick up your child as quickly as possible, being mindful of the extremely long line behind you. We are discouraged from blocking Clifton Avenue.
AM Care and EDP
Morning Care (6:30am-7:30am) and Extended Day Program (EDP) is available. If you are interested in either of these programs, please be sure to visit the website to get all the information you need. This is also where you can register your child for the programs.
