CIS Weekly Updates

Our Salvation Army Fund Drive and Be Kind Wadsworth Spirit Week highlight this week. Students are encouraged to bring in donations while participating in each day's theme. Please see the themes below. We aim to raise $5,000 for our local branch of the Salvation Army.

5th graders have a movie night on Thursday. Right after school, students can stay to watch the movie Elf, enjoy a snack, and hang out with their friends. The movie will go from 3:30-5:15. Students who wish to participate need to bring in $5.00 and have a signed permission slip. Please see below for more information.

Picture retake day is this Friday, November 22nd. Please see below for more information. *As a reminder, students must return their first picture set on Friday to avoid getting charged for both sets.

Mark your calendars for December 5th. CIS will host a family game night alongside the family ornament decorating event. Both events will be in the cafeteria from 6:00-7:30 pm. Family game night will incorporate educational games and gift card prizes. Our title tutors will coordinate the game night and have Title I information available. Family Game Night

Next week (November 18-22) we will have a spirit week for Be Kind Wadsworth. This will also coincide with our Fund Drive. Our goal for the fund drive will be to raise $5,000 for the Salvation Army. We will offer prizes for the classes who collect the most money. More information will be shared with students later on this week.

All the funds raised from the store go right back into helping students, their families, and other community members in need, as well as promoting PBIS and kindness throughout the community. The link is below. The store closes this FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 22nd.

On Thursday, November 21st, Student Council will hold a movie night for all 5th grade students. The movie will take place immediately after school from 3:30- 5:15 in the O.J. Work Auditorium. The movie that will be shown is Elf, which is “PG” rated.

Not only will the students watch the movie, but they will also be given a cookie for a snack! The cost for the event is $5.00.

If you would like your child to attend, please complete the permission slip below and return it with your child to school on Thursday, November 21st along with the $5.00. Students will bring this permission slip and their money to their homeroom teacher where they receive a wristband, allowing them entry into the movie. Please make sure your child has transportation home at 5:15 p.m. Girls will be picked up in the bus lane and boys in the car rider loop.

STUDENTS MUST TURN IN A PERMISSION SLIP TO STAY AFTER SCHOOL AND ATTEND. COPIES ARE GOING HOME WITH STUDENTS. ATTACHED IS A COPY AS WELL.

Pictures just arrived and will be going home with students this week. After viewing the original picture, If you want your student to have his or her picture retaken, they are to bring the original picture back to school with them on Friday, Nov 22 and will turn them in to Ripcho Photography for a retake. If you missed ordering photos in September or your student was absent, you can order now and they can have their picture taken. Click on the information below to order.

We will be using the HOPE (Health and Opioid Prevention Education) Curriculum this month and in later parts of the school year. Please click here to read more about this curriculum.

Ornament Painting - If you're interested in participating in this with your children, please fill out the form below and return it with $12 per ornament to be painted or use the link to sign up and pay with credit card. Lip Sync Battle - Our 3rd Annual PTO Lip Sync is coming up on March 6, 2025. This is a great event for our students and has been very popular. Recently, last year's Lip Sync Battle won a Clapper Award! Students who wish to participate will need to sign up by January 24, 2025. Lip Sync Battle 2025

Our attendance clerk, Mrs. Long, is the contact person for calling off your student and any change of dismissal plans throughout the day. Please call the Attendance Line to reach her and leave a message. The phone number to her desk is 330-335-1481. We recommend you let the attendance desk/teacher know when your student will be absent, leaving early, or arriving late. Letting us know when your child will leave early allows us to be prepared for when you arrive. We ask that all end-of-the-day dismissal plans be made by 2:45 p.m. Thank you for your efforts!
