September 2024 - Dogwood Parent Newsletter
Dear parents,
Thank you so much for a great first month here at Dogwood! We have spent a lot of time this month learning and practicing DUCKS expectations across the campus (Dedicated, United, Controlled, Kind and Safe). Each of these are tied directly to student and teacher behaviors/actions. Example - Controlled - hands and feet to self, stay in our own area, etc. We ask that you discuss these with your child and help us reinforce these at home as well. Students earn Duck Bills when they are caught showing one of the DUCKS expectations. They can do different things with their duck bills like using them at the Duck Bill store to buy pens, booklets, they can eat with the teacher, wear a hat for a day, pie the principal, etc. Thank you for helping us with this as well!
September is Hispanic Heritage month. This month recognizes the contributions of Hispanic Americans to the country's culture, history, and achievements. This year's theme is "Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future Together." We will be celebrating with optional dress up days (flyer below).
Lastly, we are excited to have some great events coming up this month (Grandparents breakfast, Open House, NCHS Football Spirit Night, Parent Workshops, etc.). More information can be found in the newsletter about the different events including dates and times.
We appreciate your continued support! If you have any questions, please call the front office.
THANK YOU,
Ms. Lowe

If their first Club option is at its student limit, they will be placed in their second or third option. More information will be given to parents and students after students are placed in a specific Club.
