OH, THE PLACES THEY WILL GO
Clinton High School students, staff members, parents, KC Wolf, Rowdy the Roadrunner and community members gathered in the CHS gymnasium on May 1st to celebrate "Decision Day". Seniors who have made plans to enter the workforce, the military, attend college, or a trade/technical school after graduation, were recognized and celebrated.
We are so proud of our seniors and are excited to watch them as they pursue their dreams.
A big thanks to Lindy Johnson and Jessica Shaffer for planning an amazing event, and to Eric Townsend for emceeing the celebration.

BRINGING SCHOOL SPIRIT TO LIFE
Have you seen the press box at Cardinal Stadium? It looks amazing thanks to Clinton High School senior, Mia Bagley.
As part of her Eagle Scout project, Mia chose to paint the press box and it looks FABULOUS thanks to her hard work and dedication. Mia says she wanted her Eagle Scout project to be one that would benefit the community and make a lasting difference. We think this one fits the bill!
Thanks Mia for sharing your talents with the Clinton School District to be enjoyed by many for years to come!
SENIORS SOAR WITH SCHOLARSHIPS
The annual Clinton High School Senior Awards Program was held on Thursday, May 2nd.
Close to $2.5 million in scholarships, grants, and financial aid will be awarded to the Class of 2024.
Thank you to the generosity of families, businesses, and other entities that have shown their generosity in providing these awards and scholarships to our students. Every gift is appreciated by our graduates and their families.
See more pictures and scholarship listings here.
SENIOR SEND-OFF
Seniors ended their last day of high school on Tuesday in their annual “senior send-off” fashion.
Students had the opportunity to thank those who have helped shape them the past four years. Tears were shed, hugs were given, and once outside students were greeted with a nice cool down from the Clinton Fire Department.
It’s easy to see from these pictures that the students made a pretty big impact on their teachers, and their teachers on them.
Thank you to Clinton High School's Bright Futures building partner, Compass Health, for providing compasses to each senior and gift baskets for a raffle. Thank you also to CHS Bright Futures Site Council members who came to support the seniors and see them off on their last day.
CHS STUDENTS COMPETE IN INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION
Clinton DECA students recently returned from international competition in Anaheim, CA. Two students, Kaydith Maddox and Chloe Lawson, placed in the top 20 in their respective events and advanced to the final round of competition. One student, Hadley DeLozier, attended the prestigious two-day leadership academy on behalf of our Missouri District while in Anaheim.
Representing Missouri DECA at the international level is an honor for all students selected to attend. Please congratulate Nathan Lankford, Kaydith Maddox, Whitney McCanles, Chloe Lawson, Hadley DeLozier, Dylan Lutjen, and Cody Mitchell on this tremendous accomplishment. Clinton DECA is led by advisor Jessie Thompson.

COACH BARNES TO LEAD CHS TRACK AND FIELD TEAMS
Clinton High School is proud to announce it has selected Jimmy Barnes as the head coach of the Girls and Boys Track and Field teams.
Coach Barnes is a proud 2004 graduate of Clinton High School, and is currently an administrative assistant for Clinton High School as well as the Activities Department.
Jimmy has a long history of coaching middle school and high school track and field athletes. Mr. Barnes coached five years in Butler where he had dozens of all-state track and field athletes, a few state champions, and a 5th place team state finish in 2017. For the last two years, Jimmy was the head coach of the Clinton Middle School track and field team, where a good number of school records were broken and the girls team received a 4th place finish in Class 3 at the Missouri Middle School Track and Field Championships. Jimmy has also coached cross country for 11 years in the Lakeland, Butler and Clinton school districts. Coach Barnes is currently the head coach for both the high school and middle school cross country teams. During his cross country coaching tenure, he has coached three state-qualifying teams, dozens of state-qualifying individuals, and a handful of all-state runners.
Jimmy was a four-sport athlete while a student at Clinton High School, participating in cross country, track, golf and tennis. During his junior year, the boys cross country team qualified for the state competition.
“I'm excited to continue the success already built within the Track and Field program, and look forward to continuing to work with the athletes I have been coaching the last two years as well. Let's go Cards,” says Coach Barnes.
“We are very excited to have Coach Jimmy Barnes take the reins of our Track and Field program,” says Activities Director, Kevin LaFavor. “Jimmy has a lot of experience in track and field at both the high school and middle school levels. He has most recently served as our middle school head coach, and has already established a great rapport with our younger athletes. We are excited to bring in another CSD alum, who has seen our track and field program have success from the early 2000's to now. Coach Barnes will do a great job at continuing to push our athletes to compete at a state level and represent the Clinton community with pride.”
HONORING OUR RETIREES
As the end of the school year is coming to a close, we wanted to take some time to celebrate and recognize the outstanding work of this year's retirees. After a combined total of close to 200 years in public education (155 of those years in the Clinton School District), these eight CSD employees have announced their retirement.
We are honored to have had these Cardinals as part of our team, and are thankful for the positive difference they have made in our district and in the lives of countless Cardinals.

EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION PROGRAM
The Cardinal Compliment program is a way for you to salute any Clinton School District employee who goes above and beyond what is expected. Whether you're a parent impressed with that special touch your child's teacher added to a moment, a coworker who thinks their colleague doesn't hear often enough about the great job they are doing, or a community member who witnesses a staff member’s commitment to kids - you can send a Cardinal Compliment!
Supervisors, including the superintendent, will see your submission. The employee will receive a certificate of gratitude and a token of appreciation that lets everyone know he or she was given a Cardinal Compliment.
Every month, Cardinal Compliment recipients will be listed on the district website and posted on the district Facebook page to let others know the names of the district's difference makers!
