How to join the MJMS band for the 2023-24 School Year!

If your child would like to join band staring in August 2023, please fill out the google form below and Mrs. Slater will get you registered! Email Mrs. Slater with any questions/concerns at slatehea100@wcschools.com

THE MJMS BAND

The Mt. Juliet Middle School Band is an outstanding band program located in Mt. Juliet, TN under the direction of Mrs. Heather Slater. We have 4 bands at Mt. Juliet Middle School. Beginning Band (6th grade), Concert Band (7th and 8th grade), Advanced Band (auditioned group -7th/8th grade), and Jazz Band (7th/8th grade). Band is an amazing opportunity to achieve excellence while being a part of a community and family.

LEARN TO READ MUSIC AND PLAY AN INSTRUMENT

Instrument Fittings-

If you don't know what you want to play, don't worry. Mrs. Slater will let you try all of the mouthpieces and see what the best fit is for you! The instrument fittings let you try each of the instrument mouthpieces and see which fit is best for you! We will have instrument fittings on April 11 and May 11th from 4-6PM in the MJMS Band Room.

IN 6TH GRADE BAND WE OFFER 4 INSTRUMENT CHOICES TO START (Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, Trombone). AFTER THE FIRST THREE MONTHS OF INSTRUCTION, WE WILL MAKE ADJUSTMENTS TO INSTRUMENT PLACEMENT BASED ON THE NEEDS FOR EACH STUDENT. THESE INSTRUMENTS CHOICES WILL INCLUDE OBOE, BASS CLARINET, SAXOPHONE, BASSOON, FRENCH HORN, BARITONE, TUBA, AND PERCUSSION.

In 7th/8th Grade- All instruments are available. FLUTE, OBOE, CLARINET, BASS CLARINET, SAXOPHONE, BASSOON, FRENCH HORN, TRUMPET, TROMBONE BARITONE, TUBA, AND PERCUSSION.
