School Counseling
October was Bullying Awareness Month. During this month, all students participated in a bullying unit. They learned what bullying is and what do to if they think they are being bullied. They also participated in bullying prevention activities by practicing restorative circles, responding to feelings, and using coping strategies to calm anger and frustration.
During the month of November, we will focus on empathy skills. Students will learn perspective-taking and practice communicating their needs and understanding the needs of others. We will also practice having an “Attitude of Gratitude”. Bobcats will learn the value of being present and focus on things they are grateful for in their daily lives.
If you need support for your child’s social-emotional needs or could use some resources, please reach out to me at any time. We have an emergency food & clothing bank at Banks, but I can also assist you in getting in touch with more resources if needed—We are a Bobcat Family.
To request assistance or schedule family or one-on-one counseling, please email me or call 520-908-5762.
