HAPPY NEW YEAR, SPARTANS!

I hope everyone had a wonderful break, spending quality time with family and friends, creating cherished memories, and enjoying some much-needed rest. In the Blackington household, we battled a round of the "ickies," but we still managed to make the best of it!

This week is a short one, so this newsletter will be brief as well. Please keep a close eye on the weather over the next few weeks—New England skies are nothing if not unpredictable! Be sure kiddos are dressed in weather-appropriate gear so they can enjoy their time outside comfortably.

The lost and found is full again! Please have students check for their lost belonging or come in and visit during school hours. Please check in with the main office between 8 and 4 each week day. We will be donating all lost and found items by January 24th.

We want to thank all the community members who came together to discuss the future of our playground here at Strafford School. We discussed important information such as fundraising, logistics, and other ways we can support play on the playground. Our next meeting will be at 6 PM on January 23rd in the school library. Any and all community members are encouraged to come! More information on this and future meetings to come in future newsletters!

Every Friday is HAT DAY! Students may wear their favorite hat to school all day if they bring in $1! Thank you for supporting the 8th grade class!

Join us for an electrifying night of hockey as the UNH Wildcats take on the Boston University Terriers at the Whittemore Center in Durham, NH. On January 17th at 7pm, witness the speed, the shots, and the saves in a high-stakes matchup that promises to keep you on the edge of your seat. Whether you're a die-hard hockey fan or looking for an exciting night out, this is an event you won't want to miss. Get your tickets today and be part of the action!

Registration for the January-February session of Library Club is now open. A few spots are still available--email cbeihl.hl@gmail.com to get on the Library Club sign-up links.

Our Winter Reading Program starts January 6! Stop by that week to pick up a reading log. Color in a snowflake for each day that you read! Each week that you come in you can get a raffle ticket and a bead to add to a special backpack charm. We'll also have a new craft or activity to do each week. We'll celebrate the end of the program on Wednesday, February 19 with a Hot Cocoa Party!
