Fifth Grade Band Performance:
A big congratulations to our talented fifth grade band students! They gave an outstanding performance last Tuesday during their concert debut. We are so proud of their hard work and dedication.
100th and 101st Days of School Celebration:
Mark your calendars! This Tuesday, we will celebrate our 100th Day of School—a milestone for our students. But that’s not all! At Western Trails, we also celebrate our 101st Day of School in honor of 101 Dalmatians. Students are encouraged to come dressed in black, white, or even as a dalmatian! We can’t wait to celebrate this fun and exciting day together.
Kindergarten Registration for 2025-2026 School Year:
It’s almost time for Kindergarten Registration! If you have a child who will be entering kindergarten next year, please mark your calendars for Thursday, February 20 at 7:00 p.m. Registration will be held online at www.ccsd93.com/kindergarten.
PBIS and Restorative Conversations:
As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting students and building positive relationships, we are using restorative questions in our PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) model. These questions help to:
Resolve conflicts and hold individuals accountable
Repair harm and restore positive relationships
Prevent harmful behavior and improve overall conduct
Build healthy relationships between educators and students
Address and discuss the needs of the school community
Our PBIS team has put together a list of questions that you can use at home with your child. We encourage you to review these questions and use them as a way to nurture growth and understanding at home.
PTA Valentine’s Dance:
We’re excited for the PTA Valentine’s Dance this Friday, February 7 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the gymnasium. This fun event is for students and their families, and a parent or guardian must be present. Get ready to dance the night away with our DJ!
CCSD 93 Strategic Plan Survey:
Today is the last day to complete the CCSD 93 Strategic Plan Survey! If you haven’t already shared your feedback, please take a moment to complete the survey by visiting www.ccsd93.com/spsurvey. Your input helps us continue to improve and track progress on our 2023-2028 Strategic Plan.

Free Be Seen & Heard Programming Resources for Parents
As previously shared, our school recently hosted the Be Seen and Heard© child sexual abuse prevention program. Students learned about the difference between safe and unsafe touch, the difference between safe and unsafe secrets and the importance of speaking up to trusted heroes in an age-appropriate, safe and engaging environment.

Need Before- or After-School Childcare?
CCSD93's partners at the Carol Stream Park District host ActivKids Before- and After-Care programs for kindergarten through 5th grade students at CCSD93's elementary schools throughout the school year. Participants enjoy games, crafts, sports, free play and time outside, as weather allows, along with optional homework time. Flexible options are available!
