Five Good Things in Spring

😎It’s officially summer, and we already miss you! We’ve had the best time this school year sharing all the good happening across Spring ISD. And just like you, 5GT is pressing pause for some sunshine, sleep-ins, and maybe a snow cone or two.

But before we sign off, we’ve got to celebrate the true stars of the season: our incredible 🎓Class of 2025! Last week, we cheered them on through six unforgettable graduation ceremonies—filled with proud families, flying caps, and memories to last a lifetime. These grads may have walked the stage, but once you're part of Team Spring, you're always part of Team Spring.

Ready, set, read! Summer’s officially here, Spring ISD families—and we’re teaming up with the Barbara Bush Branch Library to turn up the fun (and the pages) all season long. Think bubbles, laughs, and a whole lot of stories waiting to be discovered!

We kicked our program "Journey into Reading: A World of Colorful Stories" with a splash at the Summer Kick-Off Foam Party—because what’s summer without a little foam and plenty of fun?

From June 2 to August 3, all Spring ISD PK-8 students can earn points—five for every book they conquer and ten for showing up to library events. The top readers? They’ll snag prizes and serious bragging rights at both campus and district levels. Talk about a page-turning competition!

Who says celebrations are just for high school grads and scholarships? These little graduates are rocking their own kind of success—a job well done, complete with adorable caps and all! Our newest Spring ISD family members just graduated from Smart Start, our early childhood outreach program for preschoolers. It’s totally free, offered in both English and Spanish, and designed to give every family a head start. Because here at Spring ISD, choice meets opportunity—no matter where you come from. Day 1 of summer school on Thursday, June 5? Absolutely fantastic! Students dove right in, energy was sky-high, and everything ran like clockwork—shoutout to the awesome planning and teamwork behind the scenes. Interim Superintendent Dr. Kregg Cuellar wasted no time jumping into action, visiting our campuses, meeting students and staff, and showing his genuine enthusiasm and strong support for our summer programs. His hands-on approach is already making a difference, boosting morale and inspiring everyone involved. We’re already pumped for Day 2 on Monday, June 9—systems locked, momentum rolling, and ready to keep the good vibes going!

Spring ISD is serving up healthy summer meals for kids and teens—and guess what? They’re absolutely FREE! Our Summer Meals Program is open to anyone 18 and under—no summer school enrollment or income paperwork needed. Just swing by any participating school and grab a meal. Supporting our community and kids is at the heart of everything we do—we think of their well-being in every decision and program we create. Because keeping our community fueled and thriving is what we are all about!
