Seniors - below you will find the application packet and community service log for the GADOE Fine Arts Diploma Seal. It was also emailed to you last semester. This completed packet and 20 hours of community service is due to the SOTA Office by Friday, March 21.

Seniors who have taken 4 years of fine arts classes are eligible for the Fine Arts Diploma Seal from the Georgia Department of Education. Seniors, click on the links to find an eligibility worksheet and a community service log. Fine Arts Diploma Seal candidates are required to complete 20 hours of arts-related community service.

The nonprofit organization, The Hrlmgirl Project, is an official 501(c)(3) dedicated to empowering young women through mentorship, education, and community engagement. We would love to offer an opportunity for seniors pursuing the Fine Arts Seal at the School of the Arts who are interested in photography and videography to gain valuable experience while fulfilling their community service requirements.

We are currently looking for interns or students to capture photos and videos at our upcoming events. Their work would be featured on our social media platforms, newsletters, and website, with full credit given to the students. Additionally, we are happy to submit any necessary documentation to verify and support their community service contributions.

Our upcoming events include:

• Prom Dress Giveaway on March 2nd (some SOTA students are already helping with planning for service hours)
• 8th Grade Transition Event in April, where SOTA students are engaging with middle schoolers about the transition to high school

Our counselor is Ms. Tiffany Brown. Contact Ms. Brown with questions about schedules and to schedule a parent/teacher conference. Students may request an appointment with Ms. Brown through the E-Class portal or visit her in her office located on the 8100 hall.

• Attendance is important! The bell for class to start is at 7:10AM - please be on time!
• The Attendance desk is right inside the SOTA entrance at the round desk with the red counter top.
• Excused absence forms can be found at the Attendance desk.
• If your student is returning from an illness or other excused absence, they can pick up a form from the desk when they return.
• Parents/guardians should sign the form and the student can return it the next day.
• Your student's absence will then be updated in our system.
• Forms can also be found on the CGHS website.
• No excuse form is necessary if your student brings in a doctor's note to the Attendance desk.
• When coming to check-out your student, ID must be shown to the Attendance clerk. Students will only be checked out to individuals on YOUR approved list.
