Senior finals begin Monday, May 12. Keep reading for info on Senior final exams.

Senior Final Exam Exemption Board Policy:

• NO ONE is exempt from an EOC Exam
• Graduating seniors who are Honor Grads (have an overall “A” average, numerical GPA of 90% or greater) will be exempt from taking all local second semester final exams ( does not include performance finals).
• Other Graduating seniors [non-Honor Grads] that have an “A” average, 90% or greater, in a specific course will be exempt from taking a local second semester examination in THAT course, on a course by course basis. (except when an EOC Assessment is required).”

Finals for underclassman begin Friday, May 16. The final exam schedule for underclassmen is posted below.

Katina Patterson, with the Gwinnett County Solicitor’s Office, is leading a mural project for a local women’s shelter, which will run throughout the summer. Students will have the chance to paint uplifting imagery— such as butterflies and forest animals—on the walls of the shelter’s children’s playroom, outdoor fences, and play structures. They are also open to additional creative ideas students may want to incorporate.

Key Details:

• Volunteer Age Requirement: 16+
• First Start Date: June 21st (future dates will be flexible based on student availability)
• Time: 10am - 2pm
• All Supplies Provided: Generously donated by Home Depot
• Adult Volunteers Needed: Adult supervision is welcome and encouraged
• Location: Confidential; participants must complete a confidentiality agreement (https://padv.org/confidentiality-agreement/ ) before receiving address.
• Please use a web browser from a laptop; pop ups will be prevented when using a smartphone.

• Attendance is important! The bell for class to start is at 7:10AM - please be on time!
• The Attendance desk is right inside the SOTA entrance at the round desk with the red counter top.
• Excused absence forms can be found at the Attendance desk.
• If your student is returning from an illness or other excused absence, they can pick up a form from the desk when they return.
• Parents/guardians should sign the form and the student can return it the next day.
• Your student's absence will then be updated in our system.
• Forms can also be found on the CGHS website.
• No excuse form is necessary if your student brings in a doctor's note to the Attendance desk.
• When coming to check-out your student, ID must be shown to the Attendance clerk. Students will only be checked out to individuals on YOUR approved list.

Seniors who have taken 4 years of fine arts classes are eligible for the Fine Arts Diploma Seal from the Georgia Department of Education. Seniors, click on the links to find an eligibility worksheet and a community service log. Fine Arts Diploma Seal candidates are required to complete 20 hours of arts-related community service.
