Lenski Weekly Update

Happy Friday!

We hope everyone stayed warm last weekend! Thank you for your patience as we navigated yet another two-hour delay.

Last week, we held our annual Spelling Bee at Lenski! Congratulations to the following students for their outstanding performances during the competition:

• 1st Place Winner: Masha Krevenya

• 2nd Place Winner: Henry Gummelt

• 3rd Place Winner: Sophia Schultz

• 4th Place Winner: Emery Clary

Congratulations to all of the participants! They did an amazing job and showed incredible dedication! Both Masha and Henry will attend the District Spelling Bee on February 5th! A special thank you to Mrs. Heissenbuttel for organizing and leading this wonderful event!

Dr. Lambert shared the following about Drew:

Drew Mooney exemplifies the LPS Portrait of a Graduate in countless ways. As a kind and outgoing 5th-grade leader at Lenski Elementary, Drew constantly inspires those around him.

This past summer, when Drew sprained his ankle and couldn’t participate in the sports he loves, he turned the setback into an opportunity. He challenged himself by learning and mastering how to solve a Rubik's Cube! When faced with a challenge, Drew demonstrated adaptability, resilience, and creativity, transforming an obstacle into a remarkable achievement.

Drew didn’t stop there—he proposed starting a Rubik's Cube Club at Lenski. He met with administration for approval and partnered with Ms. Wilhelm, who became his teacher sponsor. Drew’s initiative was met with enthusiasm as he promoted the club and welcomed 15 eager participants. The club was a huge success, teaching many students how to solve this complex puzzle.

Drew’s creativity and leadership have sparked a wave of inspiration throughout Lenski, encouraging other students to share their unique gifts and talents with the school community.

Well done, Drew! You truly make Lenski—and LPS—a fantastic place to be!

The beginning of a new semester is a great time to ensure that we have current contact information for all families. When kids are ill or there is a change in schedule it is really helpful to have more than one phone number/ contact for your child(ren). Follow the steps below to check and update this information in your IC parent portal.

1. Log in to your Infinite Campus Parent Portal account.

2. Click the menus in the top left corner

3. Click “More.”

4. Click “Demographics.”

5. Under “Non-Household Relationships” you will see emergency contacts listed. Please review for accuracy and update if any revisions are needed.

There is a new session of Golf Squad beginning Wednesday, March 12th from 2:45-3:45 PM. The session runs through Wednesday, May 7th. Please visit the Lenski website for complete details.
