Who is United University Professions?
Welcome to Fall 2022
Welcome Back
I would like to welcome back all the faculty and professional staff to another fall semester at SUNY Potsdam. The weather is very nice, and we are all ready for the next group of incoming freshmen and transfer students that make all our efforts worthwhile. We are here for our students and for each other. Let us all dedicate ourselves to the tasks at hand, teaching the next generation of leaders, movers and shakers of the world, the United States, and the North Country. These are the people we serve. They are why we entered the field of education in the first place. I celebrate you all. You are what keeps me going each and every day. There is no finer task in the world and no finer group of professional people ready and eager to take it on, thank you.
We are UUP, you are UUP. Together we are an unstoppable force, for good, for progress…
FOR THE FUTURE!

Negotiations Update from our Statewide UUP President Fred Kowal
Dear Colleagues,
I'm pleased to inform you that we have posted a new Negotiations Bulletin on the UUP Member’s Only webpage. This bulletin provides an overview of the proposals presented so far by both the State and UUP on Health Benefits, Leaves, Job Security, Telecommuting, and the Grievance and Disciplinary procedures among others. It also looks ahead to forthcoming proposals on compensation, and outlines ways that members can get involved in organizing for the best possible agreement.
Please circulate this information widely to your members and co-workers and encourage them to visit the Members’ Only Negotiations webpage (instructions below). We will also be sending this to those members for whom we have e-mail addresses directly, but we want to use chapter communication networks and tools as well to ensure that we reach as many members as possible.
If you or your members have any suggestions, concerns, or questions, you can reach our negotiations team by email at contract@uupmail.org.
UUP Members may access the negotiations bulletin at UUP | United University Professions (uupinfo.org) by clicking “Members Only” on the Member drop down bar and following the login directions. Members will need their UUP membership IDnumber, which can be found in the lower left-hand corner of their UUP membership card. Members will also need their UUP chapter code, which is listed on pay statements and in electronic payroll records as either their “department code”, “campus code”, or “agency code”. If you don't know your membership number or chapter code, or need assistance logging into the members' only site, please call UUP at 518-640-6624.
In solidarity,
Fred
