Emergency Days | Last Day of School
When a day(s) is missed due to school closings (known as “emergency day”), the day(s) will be made up at the end of the school year, in accordance with the approved calendar.
At present, due to the District utilizing three emergency days so far this school year, the last day of school is Thursday, May 30.
Principally Speaking
This week we celabrated Lincoln's 95th anniversary with a whole school photo on the playground. Thank you to the Pierce Family for coordinating the drone to take the photo and to our PTO for organizing and chalking the black top so our student body knew where to go.
Next week, we will have our spring diagnostic for iReady. Reading will take place on Tuesday (5th Grade will take it Wednesday due to their field trip). Thursday all classes will take their math iReady, please encourgae your son or daughter to take their time, try their best and make sure that they will get a good nights sleep and a good breakfast. Next Wednesday, I am planning to take those students in grdaes 1-5 that have birthdays in Jan., Feb. and March to the local park for a picnic lunch. Please have them dress to walk to the park, if it rais we will post pone it.
Below is the link for yearbook orders, if you want to order a year book the deadline is this week, do not forget.
Upcoming Parent Volunteer Opportunity
On Tuesday, May 28th Lincoln students will have the opportunity to participate in our last Field Day at Lincoln Elementary. To run this event we need you. A volunteer signup form will be emailed to you at the beginning of May, please consider taking some time to join us for this wonderful event.
Please call the Attendance Line to Report an Absence
If your student is going to be late or absent, please call 331-228-2500 and press 1 to report the absence and the reason. Leave a message on the attendance line as soon as possible that morning or the night before. Thank you for your help in verifying absences from school.
Cougars Reading Club
Keep encouraging those good reading habits! Ask your student about what he or she is reading and fill out the form below to verify it. In the spring, we will celebrate the students' diligence with an in-school field trip to a Cougars game.
This is the final week, our hope is that every student is able to attend with the free ticket. When we go to the game, each student is given a ticket and a free hot dog and water. We will have PTO provided popsicles at school at 1:30 upon return.
Students are encouraged to bring a hearty snack so they can eat a little before we depart 10:30, classes will allow students to have this hearty snack at 10:10 or so. Last year the hot dog was not enough for most students, so we are trying to avoid hungry students at the game, unformatunatley since it is a day many schools attend the concessions stand line is unbearable.
Attention Orchestra Families!
We are in the home stretch--summer is right around the corner! As you begin to fill up your summer with activities and vacations, you should consider our very own D303 Summer Strings Camp!
This camp will be for orchestra students who are currently in grades 3 - 8. Camp will be June 17,18, 20 and June 24, 25, 26 and 27 in the evenings at Thompson Middle School.
Please visit the link in Pushcoin for more details! Questions? Ask your orchestra teacher or email the Director, Angie Wifler at angela.wifler@d303.org

Lincoln Reminders
Pick up and drop off procedures
The car line on the north side of the building is for drop off, please do not park your car and get out. If you feel like your child needs assistance getting out of their car seat or you need to get out during the process please park your car in the library lot and you can walk them over to the door.
When picking up for an appointment early
If your son or daughter needs to leave school mid-day for an appointment, please understand that we will not call your child down to the office until you are here. Time in school is very limited and every moment counts, once you are here we will call them and promptly have them come down to leave with you, but we do not want to call ahead because often they are missing valuable instruction waiting for the pick up due to unforeseen circumstances. Thank you for understanding.

District 303 would like to remind families to make sure the contact information you’ve provided is up-to-date. We want to ensure you’re getting timely alerts on important notifications.
Prior to the start of class, District 303 will send test messages through its mass communication system to the contact information you have on file (email, text and phone). This is the way the District and your child’s school(s) contact you when sending mass messages simultaneously.
Visit the Home Access Center website for information on how to view and edit your contact settings.
View Notification Preferences/Enable Text Messages
District 303 will send notifications to families through the ParentLink system by text message, phone call and email based on your settings. Parents/guardians can view and edit their contact settings through the Home Access Center.

- From the HAC main menu, select the “registration” tab to view your contact settings
- Select the “edit” button to change your contact settings
- To enable text message notifications, enter your cell phone number in the Cell/Text field
- Select the “save” button
