Attendance
As you are aware, daily on-time attendance is the first step in school success. It helps establish productive routines and good work habits that will continue through a child's school career.
The State of Maryland defines students to be chronically absent if they miss 10% or more of their days enrolled, regardless of whether the absence was excused or not. 10% is equivalent to anything more than 17 days in a school year. We currently have more than 120 students who are considered chronically absent.
We know there are times when it's important to keep your child home, in order to prevent a spread of illness. That list is below for your reference.
Thank you,
Laura Silk
From the BAMS Health Suite:
The Maryland Department of Health is closely monitoring Covid, flu, and RSV levels in the state and we are currently at an elevated level within our community. Please follow these guidelines to help keep BAMS students and teachers healthy:
Come out for a Meet and Greet with the BAMS Admin at Buontempo Bros. All proceeds from this BAMS PTA spirit dine will benefit the BAMS Care Closet, which supports the needs of students in our school. Remember to ask that your order be counted toward BAMS PTA!
