Field Day 2024
Last Tuesday students and staff participated in a successful Field Day. I want to thank Mrs. Gehris and Mr. Platt for all the hard work they put into planning the events and the day. I also want to thank the parent volunteers that came to help.
Students played field games, helped to create a welcome banner that we will put in the main hallway for the first day of school, played volleyball, Bingo, and even had the chance to dunk Mr. Altland or Mrs. Lamothe at the Dunk Tank. It was a great day of fun!
ROCKStar Luncheon
Each staff member at Scott nominated one student to participate in the luncheon. Students were invited down to the library during their lunches to eat a special lunch. Staff were also invited to eat with their nominees.
We are very proud of all of our ROCKStars. Keep up the great work!

Goodbye to Mr. Harre and Ms. Holdsworth
At our End of Year Award Ceremony we said goodbye to two amazing educators. Mr. Harre and Mrs. Holdsworth are retiring after a combined total of 53 years teaching in Coatesville Area School District.
They will both be enjoying their retirement with family and friends. We wish them the absolute best on their next chapter. Scott (and South) would not be what they are without them. They made a difference as educators, colleagues and friends. We will miss them both very much!
End of Year Award Assembly
On the last day of school we held an End of the Year Award Ceremony. Awards were given for the following categories: Most Improved (Beginning of the Year Average to End of the Year Average) in each subject by teams and Academic Excellence (Highest End of the Year Average) in each subject by teams. We also celebrated our Students of the Month and Employees of the Month. There was a ROCKStar award given to one student from each team for always showing Respect, Ownership, Courage, Kindness and Safety. Finally, we gave "Good Citizenship" awards to 2 students that were nominated by the staff. These awards were presented by a representative from Senator Katie Muth's office.
We were unable to celebrate our Honor Roll students because grades were not finalized yet. I will be posting Honor Roll in next week's Monday Morning Message as well as sending a separate message home as soon as report cards are finalized.
Honor Roll
Honor Roll will be ready by the end of the week. I will be sending a separate email with our 4th Quarter Honor Roll Students as soon as possible. I will also publish the list in next week's Monday Morning Message.
Summer Reading
Students entering grade 6 and 7 in the fall will choose a book to read from the lists below. Students should complete a graphic organizer for their book and turn it into their English teacher upon return to school. The organizer will be graded as a homework assignment for the first marking period. The due date is 9/23/24.
