A Note about Safe & Appropriate Browsing on Chromebooks
Midview Local Schools is is proud to provide all our students with Chromebooks for educational use! It's important that our North families understand that the district utilizes monitoring software (GoGuardian) to maintain a safe and appropriate online environment. This includes content filtering, page blocking, and alerts for inappropriate searches. We kindly ask for your help in sharing with your child that Chromebooks are for school purposes only and that their online activity is being monitored. We’ve noticed an increase in flagged searches and appreciate your support in promoting responsible usage!

Midview North News Channel
At North Elementary, Mrs. Bielawski and Mrs. Rowe work closely with our second graders to bring you special video news announcements throughout the school year. We're thrilled to share our first video of the year with you! Check out the video below to see our talented second graders in action!
The MeMuseum in Mrs. Kiser's Class
Second graders in Mrs. Kiser's class recently enjoyed reading Elmer by David McKee, a story that celebrates diversity and individuality through the adventures of a patchwork elephant. To honor Elmer's colorful and unique character, the students participated in an Elmer's Day Celebration filled with a vibrant parade, classroom activities, and a special stuffed elephant for each learner. Additionally, they visited the classroom MeMuseum, where they explored exhibits highlighting their own unique interests and passions. Each learner displayed three special artifacts in his/her exhibit to showcase what makes them special. This engaging combination of storytelling, celebration, and self-discovery helped the children appreciate both Elmer's message and their own special attributes.
Our Letter Activity in Mrs. Nelson's Class
Kindergarteners in Mrs. Nelson's class worked on the letter F this week. Our youngest learners read Fifi's Ferret's Flute, collaborated on creating a word web for the letter F, and celebrated their new knowledge by creating the cutest Frogs! Great work Kindergarten!
Counselor's Corner
Classroom Counseling Lessons
Mrs. Hamm started her classroom lessons this week. She will visit each classroom every other week. The first graders learned that Whole Body Listening can help them pay attention and learn while Kindergarteners read a story about all the feelings living inside of us! All classes will review and practice the Zones of Regulation, a program designed to help students understand that all feelings are okay, while giving them the tools and strategies to help manage their feelings.
Dot Day
Last week, North Elementary participated in International Dot Day! This has become an annual event to celebrate the individual creativity inside ALL of our students based on the book, "The Dot" by Peter Reynolds. With help from staff and students, our Dot Day display is underway. The students love walking by and searching for their dot. We look forward to watching our students grow together this year in our Midview North community!

Emily Ballantine, Second Grade Teacher
Years in the district: 13 Years
Reason(s) I chose to pursue my position at Midview Local Schools: I enjoy teaching and having fun with kids each day. I like that every day is different and the kids are excited to be here. Midview reminds me a lot of the district I grew up in and the family relationships I have built over the years warms my heart.
Some of my hobbies/interests outside of my career: My family - we are all involved in soccer, basketball and baseball so we are always at a field, court, or diamond. I enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, kayaking, running, etc. I also play the piano.
I am not a big fan of: Stress, pot stirrers, spiders
Working at Midview Local Schools has taught ME: I have gone through many phases at Midview and I have learned to trust my instincts and connect to positive people that want what is best for me. I am resilient and good at what I do.
