Bulldog Blast

2/14/2025
Note From Principal Pautler
Good Afternoon Bulldogs ~
Here we are just getting back from some remote instruction days and now we're looking at the forcast for next week with a curious eye. Looks like (at least at this time) some weather could roll in next week. We've already started preparation at EMHS but taking a look at some of the evening events and seeing if movement needs to be made. Case in point - the basketball games origionally scheduled for Tuesday night at Putnam City - have been moved to Monday night. We're at the end of the regular season and we have district games we need to complete to seed everything correctly for tournament time.
On Thursday of next week we will have our winter sports assembly. Winter may be the key word here as temperatures are supposed to be very low next week. Also, we have 25K in a Day for SWINE Week that takes place next Friday. There's just a bunch going on here at EMHS. Hopefully, you are keeping up with any changes and such through social media. It's a lot - I know!
Orchestra is slated to go to contest this next Tuesday. We'll see if the weather puts a cimp in that plan. I have visited some of their rehearsals these past few weeks and let me tell you - they are AMAZING. Also, we had a band concert last night. We heard from the wind ensemble and a number of small groups that were just FANTASTIC. Don't forget that Children of Eden - our spring musical - opens in just about a month and a half. Tickets are already on sale and you can click the links below for information!
One last reminder - we have NO SCHOOL this next Monday the 17th. This is because we have an already scheduled professional development day in the works. Enjoy your longer weekend Memorial and we'll see you back here next week!

National Honor Society Information
- When will my student find out if they are eligible to apply for National Honor Society? During the week of February 3rd, an email will be sent to all sophomores and juniors (who are not currently in NHS) with a cumulative weighted minimum GPA of 3.5. The email will invite them to apply with an application attached and a firm deadline of Friday, March 14th @ 4:00pm.
- Will parents also get an email regarding eligibility? Nope... Parents never receive anything directly from NHS regarding whether or not their student has qualified, checked their email, completed the application, and been invited to induction.
** NOTE: We often have a few parents who are upset that they were not aware of this opportunity for their student and that their student missed the deadline. Please know that part of the NHS process for students is having the ability to complete this process on their own.
Prom Attendance
We want our students to have an AMAZING time attending the EMHS prom. This year, we will be hosting our prom at the Edmond Conference Center located at the intersection of Sooner & Covell. Here are some items of note for EMHS prom.
1) Students must be in financial good standing to purchase prom tickets. This means all fines and fees must be paid before tickets may be purchased.
2) Sophomores are not allowed to purchase tickets but may attend as a guest of a Junior or Senior.
3) Only EMHS Juniors and Seniors are allowed to purchase tickets to the EMHS prom and are limited to one guest only.
4) Students from other high schools are allowed to attend as a guest of an EMHS student. Guest form must be submitted and approved prior to ticket purchase.
5) Please be advised that no middle school students, freshmen, or adults who have been out of high school more than one year may attend.
