Business Award Winners for 2018 - 2019
Congratulations go to the following students who were awarded various business achievement awards this past June at the Community Recognition Awards Program:
Business Advisory Board Scholarship - Bianca Kisin - Bianca took 6.5 credits in business at HHS, was a member of the Virtual Enterprises class and was a manager of the School Store. She will be studying at Brandeis University in the fall.
Hewlett-Woodmere Business Association Awards - Adam Bourbia and Alyssa Rotblut - Adam took 7.5 credits of business, was the CFO of NAPR and on the presentation team which went to the Long Island Finals for Virtual Enterprise. He will be studying at SUNY Binghamton in the fall. Alyssa took 7.5 business credits at HHS, was the Chief Technology Officer of Comforting Canines and was on the presentation team that competed in the National Business Plan competition for Virtual Enterprises. She will be studying at The Ohio State University in the fall.
Edith Berkowitz Memorial Award - Ely Assaf and Jessica Taft - Ely took 6.5 business credits, was the CFO of Comforting Canines and was on the presentation team that competed at the National Business Plan competition for Virtual Enterprises. He will be studying at Northeastern University in the fall. Jessica took 6 credits at HHS, was the President of DECA, the CEO of NAPR and was on the presentation team in the Long Island Finals of Virtual Enterprises. She will be studying at Macauley Honor College.
Dr. Peter Weber Business Award - Liya Angel - Liya took 8 credits of business at HHS, was the Chief Marketing Officer of NAPR and participated on the presentation team at the Long Island Finals for Virtual Enterprise. She will be studying at Miami University, Oxford OH.
Jeff Locker Memorial Scholarship - Jared Lake - Jared took 6 credits of business at HHS, was the CEO of Comforting Canines and participated on the presentation team that competed in the National Business Plan competition for Virtual Enterprises. He will be studying at SUNY Binghamton in the fall.
Alexander Bertrand CISCO Scholarship Award - Dominic Russo - Dominic is a talented technology student who not only excelled in the CISCO program, but also took multiple programming courses and two AP Computer Science courses at HHS. He was a lead designer, programming and builder on the Robotics team. Dominic will be studying at Purdue University (Purdue Polytechnic Institute) in the fall.
HHS PTA Award for Recognition in Business - Ashley Shanab - Ashley took 7 credits of business at HHS, was the Chief Marketing Officer of Comforting Canines and participated on the presentation team that competed at the National Business Plan competition. Ashley will be studying at The Ohio State University in the fall.
All of these students achieved the highest level in their course work and we wish them well as they begin their post-graduate studies.
