At the June 25, 2024, Board of School Directors' Meeting, the BASD School Board engaged the Berks County Intermediate Unit to facilitate its search for a new Superintendent. Below is the official job posting and an invitation to our families, students, staff, local businesses, and all stakeholders to participate in a Community Survey as part of the process.

The Boyertown Area School District Board of School Directors is searching for a successor to fill the position of Superintendent of Schools. The Board of School Directors would like to know what qualities you would like to see in the next Boyertown Area School District Superintendent. Input from the school district’s faculty, staff, students, parents, and community is a valuable part of the search process.

The survey is anonymous and is being conducted by the BCIU. All responses must be submitted by August 5, 2024. Thank you in advance for your participation in the community survey.

The Roman Numerals above indicate the member's voting region. Our voting regions include:

• Region 1 – Borough of Bally, the Borough of Bechtelsville, Colebrookdale Township (Voting precincts 1 and 2), Earl Township (Voting precincts 1 and 2), Washington Township (Voting precincts 1 and 2), and Borough of Boyertown (Voting precinct 1).
• Region 2 - Borough of Boyertown (Voting precinct 2), Douglass Township (Berks County – Voting precincts 1 and 2), Douglass Township (Montgomery County – Voting precincts 1, 2, 3, and 4).
• Region 3 – New Hanover Township (Voting precincts 1, 2, and 3) and Upper Fredrick Township.

Former Board of School Directors' Telecom Intern Evan Lichtfus was awarded a $3500 scholarship by CCRES in cooperation with the Foundation for Boyertown Education. The scholarship is for the purchase of an editing laptop, camera and software. The Michael J. Kelly Pathways Scholarship was established to provide financial support for students in 9-12 grades to offset the cost of post-secondary education and career preparation opportunities.

Evan will attend Ithaca College in the fall. Congratulations! #BEARProud

Congratulations to Dr. Wilbur Stout. He was inducted tonight into the Pennsylvania American Legion Baseball Hall of Fame.

Will is a 1986 graduate of Boyertown High School and was a catcher for the 1984, 1985, and 1986 Ches Mont Championship Baseball Teams. He was the American Legion Player of the year in 1987.

Dr . Stout was also a standout lineman on our football and wrestling teams and went on to play baseball at Temple University.

He is pictured with his wife Brenda and son Owen.

As many of you know, Boyertown Area School District has a rich history of volunteerism. Last year, we updated our process for managing volunteers and their required clearances, etc. to include the Raptor software platform already in place throughout the district. We are pleased to share that the rollout was a huge success with more than 1,000 volunteers participating in the new process for 2023-2024!

As we approach the start of the 2024-2025 school year, more than 870 of those who registered remain active, approved volunteers who can volunteer starting immediately for upcoming summer camps, as athletic coaching volunteers, and in our buildings (provided your clearances do not expire between now and the start of these activities and the school year).

We strongly encourage the remaining 160+ who have expired within Raptor to update their documentation following the instructions received from Raptor, so they can do the same.

Finally, we invite those of you who are new parents/guardians to the district, and those of you who want to become new volunteers to do so now. Doing so will ensure that you are ready to join us when volunteer opportunities of interest arise.
