According to our handbook, students can use a parent note to excuse absences for only five occurrences each semester. One occurrence is a single day absence or multiple consecutive days absent for the same reason.

For instance, if your child is sick for a week and does not see a doctor, that counts as ONE occurrence. The same applies if they are sick for just one day.

Parent Note Required:

• Single absence and consecutive absences up to five days in a row

Doctor Note Required:

• Five or more consecutive days of absence.

Absence counts reset at the start of the second semester in January.

If your child has any absences excused with a parent note but has seen a doctor, you can still get a doctor's note to update the attendance. Doctor's notes are unlimited. You can email a picture of the note to wright.taylor@fcboe.org or send it through ParentSquare. You can also fax it to the school at 770.631.5431.

You can submit an absence online

Go to www.oges.org. Select 'I want to' in the top right corner, and then select 'submit an absence.' It is important to include a reason for your student's absence. You can also send an email to Ms. Wright! wright.taylor@fcboe.org

We have had our turkey so now it's time to sign up for Secret Santa! We will need volunteers the Friday after we get back from Thanksgiving Break and will need all hands on deck to help out!

Please review the sign up genius and help where you can. On Friday, December 6 - after school - we will need trucks, vans, and golf carts to help us unload the shed and bring things around the building to the bus loop and into the library. If you have a truck, van or golf cart that can be used- please add that to the comments when signing up.
