Today and tomorrow, August 26-27, an excessive heat watch is in effect. Fortunately, our school learning environments are air conditioned.
Our district will consult the Child Care Weather Chart provided by the Illinois State Board of Education to assist in determining if it is safe for students to go outdoors for recess, P.E. class, or similar activities.
Please remind students to wear lightweight, light-colored clothing and proper shoes. Students are encouraged to bring a water bottle to school to assist in proper hydration throughout the day. We will also have water available for students.
At this time, we are planning for a regular school day schedule. As always, if you have concerns about your child, please contact their school directly.
