Let's take time to celebrate!

A Message from Mrs. Booth...
I hope this message finds you all in good health and high spirits. As Staff Appreciation Week draws to a close, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible outpouring of support and generosity from our school community.
Your thoughtful gestures, kind words, and generous gifts have touched the hearts of each and every one of us educators. Whether it was a handwritten neon note from a student, a warm embrace in the hallway, or a delicious treat, every gesture made this week truly special. The Silver Springs PTA (with the help of your donations) spoiled the Staff from start to finish!
Teaching is not just a job; it's a passion and a calling. Your support fuels our dedication and commitment to nurturing the minds and hearts of our students, day in and day out. It serves as a reminder of the strong bond that exists between us all—a bond built on mutual respect, understanding, and a shared commitment to the education and well-being of our children.
Once again, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for your unwavering support and generosity. It is truly an honor and a privilege to be part of such an incredible school community.
We hope to see you tonight at The Multicultural Festival from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
With sincere gratitude,
Katie Booth

LEADER IN ME - MEASURABLE RESULTS SURVEY
As a Leader in Me Lighthouse school we are always working to understand how we can improve.
Our annual Measurable Results Survey will be open to all parents beginning Wednesday, May 1 through Friday, May 24th. This survey is used to collect, analyze, and report school-level outcomes as they relate to improving leadership, culture, and academics. It helps us identify our strengths and weaknesses, develop improvement plans, and monitor progress. Staff and students in grades 4-5 will be surveyed, as well. All of your responses are completely anonymous.
Our goal is for at least 54 families to respond to the survey. We need about 45 more families to reach our goal.
The survey should take you approximately 5-10 minutes to complete. Thank you!

Thank you so much for your support!!

TOTALLY RADICAL STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK!!!!
Zeinab Bazzi and Kate Rundell had an absolute blast putting to work the PTA funds and family donations to show appreciation for our staff every day this week.
Here are all the ways the SS PTA worked together to celebrate the staff:
- Students sent in hundreds of neon notes for “Thanks for being radical” display.
- Mrs. Booth coordinated a “Teachers Just Wanna Have Fun” taco bar lunch for staff in the lounge.
- Students built flower bouquets for their teachers on Monday. Teachers received a card saying, “thank you for helping us bloom & grow” along with their flowers. **Thank you to Lindsey Dogonski, Ashley Parker, and Sarah Cole for helping staff this effort!
- “The Breakfast Club” - PTA provided breakfast for staff, including bagels, donuts, coffee, juice, fresh mango, blueberries, clementines and bananas.
- On Tuesday, students wore their teacher’s favorite color.
- “Another One Bites the Crust” - PTA provided pizza lunch for all staff.
- On Wednesday, students/families sent in treats for their teachers and adopt-a-staff.
- “Never Gonna Give You Up, Never Gonna Dessert You!” – Mrs. Booth coordinated desserts & treats for staff in the lounge.
- “Let’s Get Fizzical” PTA provided fun, fizzy drinks and mocktails in the staff lounge.
- Families donated over 200 gift cards for a gift card raffle. (THANK YOU to all the very generous families who sent those in!!). On Friday, gift cards were given out to all staff at lunchtime.

If you’d like to join your child for a birthday lunch before the school year ends, this is your last chance to sign up!

WE NEED AT LEAST 3 NEW VOLUNTEERS FOR THE 2024-2025 SILVER SPRINGS PTA E-BOARD.
Please email us at silverspringspta@gmail.com to express interest and ask any questions!
There’s zero pressure if you want to just chat with the current E-Board officers and get more info. Each role is different with the amount of time (some big, some small time commitments). Some jobs are more “behind the scenes” than others - so whatever suits you, we’ve got the perfect spot!
Got ideas for fundraising? Creative with communications? Want to help plan super fun events? WE NEED YOU!!!
WE NEED VOLUNTEERS FOR COMMITTEE CHAIR POSITIONS
Besides the E-Board spots, we need several volunteers to chair committees and plan events. Please look for that info coming soon.
T-shirts!
We need someone to take the lead on spirit wear for next year. That would include designing the apparel with the spirit wear vendor (July 2024), coordinating orders (August-September), and distributing it when it comes in (October). The job is pretty easy, just needs someone who into designing cute t-shirts ;) and is organized.

LEADER IN ME FOCUS FOR THE MONTH - HABIT 6 SYNERGIZE
Habit 6: Synergize
What this means: Working together is better. The whole is greater than the sum of the parts.
“I get along well with other people and work well in groups.”
“I value the strengths of others and allow myself to learn from them.”
“I know that working together as a team we can get more done and come up with better solutions than we could alone.”
“I seek out other people’s ideas to solve problems.”
How can I do this in my life?
With your children, choose a problem you may have (like curfew or completing tasks). Use the Synergy Action Plan to summarize your child's solution and your solution: (1) define the problem, (2) share your views, (3) think of solutions, (4) choose the best solution together. See if you can reach a better solution (The High Way) than either of you could come up with alone.
