As part of our Social Studies curriculum, 5th Grade learns about the American Civil War. As a culminating activity, we host a Civil War Day and invite Civil War reenactors to come in and present to our 5th-grade students. Presentations and demonstrations this year include infantry, cavalry, artillery, and music. Students will rotate through these demonstrations throughout the morning of Thursday, May 30 starting at 8:30 am and ending by 12:30 pm. Both artillery and infantry will be firing blank cannon and musket rounds during the first half of the morning. We are excited for the kids to learn more in-depth what it was like to be involved in the Civil War.
