Today I'd like to focus on the "four C's" that are considered to be the most important.

The four C’s of 21st Century skills are:

1. Critical thinking
2. Creativity
3. Collaboration
4. Communication

Common Sense Media started out as a free digital citizenship curriculum and it has now blossomed into much more. They still have the Free Digital Citizenship Curriculum that is broken down by grade level K-12. They also have Quick Activities you can do with your class K-5 and 6-12. There is also an implementation guide, classroom posters, toolkits, family engagement resources, classroom videos, student guides to social media, edTech reviews, Professional Development opportunities, and resources in Spanish as well as resources for Distance Learning.

You can also get on as a parent and check out reviews for movies, tv, books, apps, games, etc.

We've all been introduced to Edpuzzle in our trainings with Five Star, but sometimes we're not quite ready to integrate tools into our curriculum when we first hear about them. Here are four quick videos showing how Edpuzzle could be integrated into your subject area. Edpuzzle has so many premade video content, or you can upload your own content. Edpuzzle takes videos and turns them into interactive lessons that kids can rewatch so they can learn at their own pace.

Wonderopolis is a great resource that allows students to explore! The articles are short and fun. They range to cover all topics like science, math, social studies, language arts, technology, and arts & culture. This would be a great opportunity to get your students exploring and provide student choice in a very structured environment. Check it out here!

Geoguessr is an independent site that uses Google Street View to test your geography skills. The site “drops” the user in a random place in the world and the user guesses where they are by looking at their surroundings. After guessing, a score is given based on the accuracy of the guess. This “drop” happens five times and then a final score is given. This is a great way to challenge students to use their previous knowledge by looking at the plant life, terrain, vehicles, and even the street signs to determine their location. Geoguessr can be used as a review or even just a fun brain break.
