THE IMPORTANCE OF ATTENDANCE
PLEASE COMPLETE THIS BRIEF SURVEY RELATED TO SCHOOL ATTENDANCE.
Regular school attendance in elementary school is crucial for a child's academic, social, and emotional development. Consistent attendance fosters a strong foundation in essential skills like reading, writing, and math, which are building blocks for future learning. It also helps children develop routines, a sense of responsibility, and the ability to build positive relationships with peers and teachers. When students miss school, they miss out on valuable learning opportunities and may struggle to catch up, potentially leading to gaps in knowledge and decreased academic performance. Establishing good attendance habits early sets the stage for long-term educational success and engagement.

SPANISH TUTORING BY FORMER GATORS
From Jillian and Josiah Rego
About Us
We are a brother-and-sister team who graduated from the Gage Elementary and Pershing Middle School Immersion programs. Josiah (currently a junior at Patrick Henry High School) has completed the Immersion program and received a Biliteracy Seal in Spanish. Jillian (currently a freshman at Patrick Henry High School) is also in the program, with just one more year to go. We are both fluent in Spanish and eager to help your student succeed.
How It Works

FEELING LOST?
The Lost and Found has reached "max capacity" status and could now double as a pop-up thrift store! If you’ve noticed your child coming home a bit lighter on hats, jackets, or that favorite lunchbox, we just might have it here—along with a few mystery items that defy explanation. Please swing by and take a peek; we have everything from water bottles seeking hydration partners to hoodies looking for their long-lost owners. Help us give these items the happy reunion they deserve before they set off on a new adventure!
SEND A LOVE NOTE
- We want to expand our efforts of recognizing our educator colleagues (both inside and outside the classroom) beyond a once a year celebration. We will begin a monthly celebration of educators across our district and across roles through a nomination process that can be accessed via this LINK
- We encourage everyone to have access to this nomination form (colleagues, students, families, community members, etc) and will be circulating it throughout our larger community. This is how we will Live Our Values Every (LOVE) day, week, and month.
- Please share the following pdfs that have a direct live link and/or QR code to help us spread the word:
- Print and Share Version: LINK
- Online/Clickable Version: LINK
- This nomination process will be celebrated monthly. Thank you for joining us in recognizing all of the hard working staff that contribute to the education of students across San Diego!
