Piedmont USD - Week 3 Update >>>

May 27, 2025
Dear PUSD Families & Staff:
Here we are at the penultimate week of the school year, with warmer days upon us. I hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend, and if you or a family member served, thank you to those who have served our country.
Last week, I had the opportunity to visit Wildwood for Cap & Gown Day, when graduating seniors returned to their former or chosen elementary schools to high-five and connect with younger students. It was a joyful reminder of one of the many experiences that make our district so special: creating opportunities for students to come full-circle, inspiring the next generation of PUSD students while celebrating their own graduation next week. It was joyful!
In community,
Jennifer Hawn, Ed.D.
Superintendent
Net Promoter Score (NPS) + Year-End Feedback
Last chance! Last year, we closed out the year with a quick and informal pulse check, a Net Promoter Score (NPS) on how likely you are to recommend our schools. We invite you to take this quick, one-question survey, linked HERE. We recognize that families have a number of school options, and this end of the year “Pulse Check” is an additional method for gathering feedback on school satisfaction. We invite both staff and families to participate in this survey. Thank you!
On a related note, at my year-end Superintendent's Advisory Committee meeting, I provided a summary for this year's programs, along with opportunities to provide feedback for the future. The presentation deck is linked HERE. The feedback survey is linked above (NPS), as well as the LCAP and LCAP survey linked HERE.
Celebrations
Thank you, Custodial Team!
Thank you to our amazing custodians! 💜 I do a lot of walking throughout our campuses, and I am consistently grateful to our custodians for the fine work they do to keep our schools clean and safe. The team have been meeting, including today's meeting, to discuss summer cleaning, which includes of a deep clean of all of our facilities, which always look outstanding, especially when we return from summer break.
Cap & Gown Day
Thanks to ASB students Dean Olliphant and Juliana DeYoung, along with ASB teacher Hayley Adams and Principal Yoshihara for making Cap & Gown Day happen last Wednesday, May 21st at our three elementary schools. I hope this is a tradition that we can bring back annually.
PMS & PHS Orchestra Concert
Thanks to Trevor Meseroll, Julie Larson, Jan D'Annunzio and even a guest performance by Shauna Revelli for the PMS/PHS Orchestra Concert last week. It was wonderful seeing our students perform, taking up the full stage at the end with the symphonic orchestra. Nicely done to all!
Director of Human Resources: Kim Randlett
I am so excited to see the appointment of Kim Randlett as the next Director of Human Resources. You may know that Kim’s tenure at Piedmont began in 2007 as a paraeducator at Havens and then she moved into the District Office in 2011 to support the Assistant Superintendents of Business Services and Curriculum and Instruction. Her dedication and leadership were quickly recognized, leading her to move into a leadership position in Human Resources supporting the district and the classified staff, a role she has held with distinction for the past 13 years. Kim enjoys broad respect across the staff and teachers for her professionalism, her problem solving skills, her communication and positive demeanor. Kim earned her degree in business from Webster University and holds a certificate from the ACSA Personnel Academy.
