Greetings MPE Families,

This week we celebrate National School Counseling Week! We are thrilled to take a moment and celebrate our counselor, Mrs. Daniel. While it's just her first year at MPE, she has strong ties to our community and has jumped in effortlessly to get to know and support our students. She brings a wealth of experience, having served as school counselor at both the elementary and middle school levels. She is dedicated, caring, knowledgeable and kind. MPE will be celebrating Kindness Week, February 10-14. On Friday, February 9th, we will be sending home a Kindness Bingo card with your child! The goal is simple: complete a row of kind acts and earn a brick to add to our wall by the cafeteria. The grade level with the most bricks at the end of the week will win extra recess! We’re excited to celebrate kindness week together and look forward to seeing how many kind deeds we can accomplish as a school!

MPE Annual Flower Day on Friday, February 14th.

Bloom a smile by sending a flower or bouquet with your student(s) the morning of Friday, February 14th. Our volunteers will build an arrangement for each class and deliver them to admin, teachers, and staff.

During the month of March all students will receive the Think First & Stay Safe™ program. This is a program that is implemented every year to help educate students on personal safety. Please read the document provided for more information. If you choose to opt your child out of the program, please return the opt-out letter by March 5th. Exciting news, everyone! We’re launching the Wait Until 8th campaign at MPE!

This initiative encourages families to delay giving their kids smartphones until at least the end of 8th grade. Together, we can reduce the pressure on our children and help them thrive in a more distraction-free environment. The pledge becomes "active" once 10 or more families from the same grade sign up, which means you won’t be alone in this commitment. Join us in saying “not yet” to smartphones and give our kids a few more years to grow and explore!

When your child is absent from school due to illness or an appointment, please be sure to send an excuse note to mpeattendance@fultonschools.org. This will ensure our attendance office receives your excuse and can update your student's record accordingly. Remember that teachers can only mark students absent or present and cannot update absences. Absences will be updated within a few days of the excuse note being sent. I realize that the attendance letters detailing number of days absent can be unsettling. Please note that these are sent automatically from the district. Although they do have my name in the signature line, they are not from me. I do not send them or know when they are being sent. I am happy to help clear up any discrepancies found in your child's attendance record. Please feel free to reach out to me at any time for assistance at richardsona3@fultonschools.org.

There is a new and easy way for MPE families to send in photos for use! Family Photo Share📸

If for some reason you have not registered with Pick Up Patrol and need a registration link, please send an email to Shannon Anderson at Andersons5@fultonschools.org. Remember, you must submit all transportation changes using the app. The default transportation will be how they normally go home. If your student normally goes home a certain way, there’s no need to enter it on that day. Plan changes are only for when it differs from the default plan. Also, if you need a carpool or walker number, email andersons5@fultonschools.org or call the front office. Thanks so much!

Every Friday our amazing Dad's Club relieves the teachers for a morning of carpool take over. Come join in on the fun opening car doors for the students. The kids love having the dads there while music is playing and the blow up man is dancing. 💚🖤 The RHS Girls Snowball Soccer Camp is just around the corner, and we are excited to welcome girls from 2nd to 8th grade of all skill levels! Whether your child is new to soccer or ready to refine her game, this camp is the perfect opportunity to get ready for Rec soccer and upcoming Club tryouts! 💪

In the Creative Minds Art Club, we champion the artist in everyone. Our mission is to inspire confidence in artistry and reveal the magic of creation.

Students will come into a WORKING ARTIST STUDIO where they will learn techniques for their OWN creations. Some projects will be teacher-led, but the goal is to allow students to find their inspiration and create from there — we value process and experimentation over final products, because that’s where real learning and creativity lie.

Classes are limited to 10 so that each student receives 1:1 time working on their projects.
