Dear Hayshire Families,

February continues to be a fun-filled month! Monday was the kick off for our Hayshire Read-A-Thon. We celebrated with a whole school assembly. PTO presented our challenge for the 2025 Read-A-Thon. If we read 50,000 or more minutes, we will earn a Glow Party! Miss Prowell, our school librarian, and several students introduced books that can be found in our Hayshire library. It was an opportunity to preview some of our new reads and celebrate Black History Month! We also took this time to thank several members from a local church. They made a generous donation to support our Birthday Book initiative. Throughout the year, every child at Hayshire has an opportunity to select a book to celebrate his//her birthday. Our children made thank you cards and bookmarks on the 3D printer to show gratitude and appreciation.

Thank you to our PTO for sponsoring our Read-A-Thon Family Night. It was a huge success. Over 360 students and family members attended! Special guest readers including Mrs. Beam, Mrs. Glover, Miss Prowell, and Miss Rhodes, shared favorite stories with our Hayshire families. Throughout next week, students will continue to log reading minutes. March 7 is the last day to log those minutes.

It's not too late! There's still time to sign up for our next round of Parent-Teacher Conferences on Thursday, March 13 and Friday, March 14. The Conference Scheduler is open in Skyward. Every year the PTO provides dinner for teachers and staff during the March conferences. If you would like to donate, please click on this link.

The Chipotle Fundraiser is scheduled for Monday, March 3 from 4:00- 8:00 PM at 890 Loucks Road. Chipotle will donate 25% of the event sales to our Hayshire PTO. Please see the flyer below for more details.

Hayshire loves to read. Hayshire loves to celebrate. For the next two weeks, everyone at Hayshire is celebrating reading! Hayshire's annual Read-A-Thon has begun. To learn more, click on the button below, Hayshire Reads.

Our next round of conferences will take place on Thursday, March 13 and Friday, March 14. Once again, families will use Skyward to schedule a Parent-Teacher Conference. The Conference Scheduler will open in Skyward on Tuesday, February 18 at 8:00 AM. This will allow you flexibility to select a time. The Parent-Teacher Conference provides a time to meet with the teacher and learn more about your child's progress, academically, socially, and emotionally. We know that success for your child is family and school working together!

The Central York Education Association’s Battle of the Buildings returns! Teacher teams from each of our buildings will battle it out with juniors and seniors through a variety of crazy events and games to raise funds for scholarships for students pursuing careers in education. These teams will battle it out on Friday, March 21, 2025. Doors open at 6:30 PM. The event begins at 7 PM. Come and cheer on your teachers! To purchase tickets online, click on the button below!

Kindergarten Registration is now open for the 2025/2026 school year. We are excited to welcome upcoming Kindergartner to our Panther Family. Per District Policy, students must be five years of age on or before August 31, 2025 to be enrolled for Kindergarten. Kindergarten Registration will take place at Hayshire Elementary on Monday, April 14 and Tuesday, April 15. You will select a 30 minute time slot. Your child should attend with you that day!
