PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Important Updates for the 2nd Semester
Dear Trojan Families,
As we approach Winter Break, we look forward to welcoming students back on Monday, January 6th for the start of second semester. I'd like to highlight a couple of important updates for the new year that will require home and school collaboration.
Electronic Devices:
To reduce distractions, students must keep their personal electronic devices out of sight after 8:35 AM. Our district has already been ahead of the curve on this, but the South Carolina Department of Education’s "Free to Focus" initiative has now formally rolled out, promoting a phone-free learning environment. For more information, click here.
Student IDs:
Please remind your child to wear their student ID around their neck at all times as IDs help us maintain a safe campus environment. If a student loses their ID, they can visit the A Office to speak with Ms. Caldwell. Lost IDs may incur a replacement fee.
Thank you for your support in helping us create a focused and safe learning environment. We wish you a wonderful remainder of the semester and look forward to seeing your child on January 6th!
In partnership,
Michael Abraham
Principal
Did your student miss their exam?
If your student missed any of their final exams, they will receive a Canvas message on Friday, January 3. Make-up exams will take place after school, Tuesday-Thursday, January 7-9, beginning promptly at 3:50PM in the media center.

CONGRATULATIONS!
SEE THE DOCTOR AT BELLEVIEW
The Belleview location of Affinity Health Center will be open during the holiday break. Rock Hill School District students, staff, and families can receive primary care, including mental health counseling at this convenient site Monday thru Friday from 8-5pm. Call (803) 909-6363 for appointments. The Belleview site will be closed December 16, 24, 25, & January 1st.
SENIOR SCOOP
COMPLETE THE FAFSA FORM
College bound students, regardless of income, who want to be considered for federal, state, and school financial aid programs (including grants, scholarships, work-study funds, and loans) should head on over to fafsa.gov to start your form today.
ENROLL, ENLIST, EMPLOY
The fall semester seems to go by quickly with all of the deadlines, activities, and school breaks. Seniors should be considering what they are planning to do after graduation in just a few short months. It's ok to not have a definitive plan right now, but they should be thinking about all of the available options-tech or trade school, college, military, or career opportunities. Students may speak with their school counselor or our career counselor for assistance.

PARENT PORTAL
Parents and guardians should be sure to log in to PowerSchool to keep up with students' academic progress and attendance. PowerSchool is the system used to keep up with students' grades and attendance. The system is live, so as teachers are updating grades and attendance, you can see it immediately. As a parent or guardian, you can also set up notifications for Parent Portal to contact you about your child's progress on a weekly basis, daily basis, or anytime a new grade or attendance code has been entered.
ATTENDANCE MATTERS
- Students must be present for at least 60 minutes to get credit for attending class.
- Parents may submit up to three parent notes per semester or a total of 6 per school year. If your student is absent, please submit an excuse to nwabsencedocumentation@rhmail.org within three days of the absence.
