📣 A Story with Mrs. Hemmer
What a wonderful start to 2025! Students kicked off the new year by jumping right back into learning. This week, our Circle of Courage principle of focus is mastery. This week's story--Snowflake Bentley--is about the curious mind of Willie Bentley, a farmer-scientist who studied snowflakes. If you're looking to discuss the story with your family, here are some questions to guide your conversation:
What does it mean to be curious?
What were some of the ways Willie was curious in the story?
How did Willie share his knowledge of snowflakes with others?
What were some of the challenges Willie faced?
Willie was a "master" of snowflakes. What is a topic or skill you are interested in mastering?

📆 Calendar Updates
There are two updates to the school calendar in January/February:
Wednesday, January 29th will now be a 3:00 PM dismissal.
Wednesday, February 5th will now be a 1:30 PM dismissal.
Please update your child's after school plans for these days!
⭐ December SOAR Leaders
Congratulations to Flandreau Elementary students recognized as SOAR Leaders in the month of December! These students were honored for being respectful role models in their classrooms.
Please drop off students for school using the east side doors off of Wilson Street. The bus loop is reserved for school transportation services only.
Students who are picked up after school should not exit school grounds to meet their rides in the Redeemer Lutheran Church parking lot or on Bridge Avenue behind the school. Please use the pick up line on the east side of the school on Wilson Street.
