A Message From Heather Patterson, GRHS Principal
Happy Sunday GRHS Longhorns,
It's your LUCKY week because we are ONLY one week out from a nice LONG Spring Break! I know that we all (yes everyone...students and staff) are R.E.A.D.Y, so finishing strong even when we are tired...is just how we do it at the Ranch! Please ensure that you are following all the rules and procedures that we have in place to make this week smooth. Bringing your BEST self to school this week to finish strong is my expectation. There is no wiggle room, to the swift consequences you will face if you CHOOSE to disrupt the learning and safety of our campus flow! You are better that, I believe in you! That means making good choices with your behavior, finishing strong academically so that you are not behind when we get back, and showing lots of kindness (to everyone) as this is a direct reflection of your CHARACTER, and I know your family has raised you right! Make them proud!
As the weather begins to warm back up this month, please make sure you are WELL within dress code. That means your shorts are LONG enough, shorts can be SEEN WELL BELOW those oversized t-shirts, no mid drift showing (which means the length of your shirt matters too), and no hoodies UP inside the building. Also, you should NOT be carrying a blanket around, if you feel the building is cold, bring a jacket or sweatshirt.
March 14th - 18th is Spring Break! This will be my final GRHS Longhorn News until March 20th, as I will be stepping away to partake in a little rest and rejuvenation with my personal family during the break, as well! I hope you stay safe and make lots of memories with yours, too. Maybe you can do a little shopping for some longer shorts and shirts, so that you will not be dress coded the week we come back. ;)
Course Selection and Counselor Schedules:
22-23 Course Selection is in FULL swing, which means our counselors are still out of their offices this week! They meet one-on-one with EVERY student to ensure they are set up for success (and graduation) here at GRHS. In the interim, if you have a question, their awesome Admin Assistant - Mrs. Ware, will be happy to assist you/your child. Her contact info is here, nware@lcisd.org and will also be linked in the counselors "out of office reply" for easy access for you.
If you do not have an ID at this point, you will need to purchase a new one for $5 in the library from 8:00-8:15am. If you choose not to, there will be a HOLD placed on your account for the end of year. (exemptions/graduation/final grades, etc)
- No ID = No Tech! ID's are mandatory everyday! No more temporaries will be issued. If you need a NEW ID/Lanyard it can be purchased for $5 in the library from 8:00-8:15 daily! Lanyards/ID's should be on the second you step through the doors each day. Please make sure you are following this rule as well as being in dress code and to ensure that you are not written up for non compliance.
The front office is open daily Monday- Friday 8:00-4:00pm to assist you. You can also directly email us or call 832-223-4200 during the same hours. We are happy to help!
