This cheat sheet is designed to help you navigate Skyward Family Access. Print out a copy and keep it handy.

McMillen families, this is the updated spring 2025 testing calendar. Mark these important dates on your agendas so you don't miss any important events!

Parents, this year McMillen High School is cashless. Everything, including ID fees must be paid online this year through Rycor.

Parents, please remember after school pick up is in the back parking lot only, NOT the bus lane. We appreciate your attention to our students' safety.

PISD has a page dedicated to Skyward Family Access. Click on Entering an Absence Request to access detailed instructions on how to report an absence.

Any student without an ID will have another one printed for them. They will be charged $5 for each ID badge that is replaced.

Celebrate your child's birthday and support McMillen at the same time! Pay $25 for your student's birthday to be posted on our School Marquee on their birthday. Please complete the details here and submit payment at least two weeks prior to the Monday of your child's birthday week - Ex: Child's birthday is 10/26, need to have form and payment submitted by Monday, 10/16. If payment is not received, name will not be displayed. Payments will be submitted through RYCOR at https://www.studentquickpay.com/pisd/.

On the day of the student's birthday, their first name and last initial will display under "HAPPY BIRTHDAY"!! Birthday on the Marquee orders will be accepted from August 16, 2024 thru January 31, 2025. Get your Panther's birthday in and don't miss that smile on the morning of their birthday when they see the marquee. Come snap a pic of your student by the marquee and start the day off with a smile. *If the marquee is not working, which is rare, their name will display the next working day.

Today is such an exciting day for our Visual Arts Department.

It's taken a few months to get everything ready but our Student Art Vending Machine is now open for business!

It's a "soft opening" so the machine will get some decorative upgrades and signage and such later. But for now, come check it out and buy some students' art.

Hello Eastside Family,

Your Lady Panther basketball team started the playoffs with a big win Monday night. We are Bi-District Champions!! If you see any of the girls, be sure and give them a big congratulations.

Our area round playoff game is tomorrow night at 6:30 PM in Coppell vs a tough South Grand Prairie team. We would love to see you all out to support if you can.

Congratulations to our MHS Band students who competed for ratings at the East Cluster Ensemble Contest last Thursday right here at McMillen. For the 2nd year in a row, MHS Band students received no less than a Division 1 "Superior" Rating from the judges. 4 groups were selected as Outstanding Ensemble with a 1+ rating for going above and beyond in the preparation for this contest.

Trumpet Ensemble - Paola Angulo, Ryder Glenn, Sahil Katedia, Cullen Ragsdale, Elle Uriegas

Symphonic Band Trio - Lauryn Bowen, Rosie Carr, Kaima Okongwu

The Band Directors are very proud of our student musicians!

The Dazzlers attended their first competition this weekend! They learned their first contest dance back in May, so they have put in countless hours working on these routines. I have to give a big shout out to the McMillen staff of educators because for the second year in a row, the Dazzlers earned Academic Champions with the best overall GPA in the JV category! Thank you for all you do to support your students in their academic journeys. We will compete one more time this coming Saturday, so the hard work doesn't end here! A full list of awards is below:

• JV Best in Class Officers- 1st Place

• JV Best in Class Team- 1st Runner Up

• Overall Best of the Best Officers- 3rd Place (out of all the Officer groups at the competition, including the Varsity Officer groups!)

• JV Academic Champions

• Platinum Best Overall- Officers (Scoring highest in each area of the score sheet)

• Gold Best Overall- Team (Scoring highest in 3 out of 4 areas of the scoresheet)

• Judges Awards, GND, & Sweepstakes- Officer Jazz, Officer Hip Hop, Officer Contemporary, Team Jazz, Team Novelty, and Team Pom (All routines scoring 94 and above from all judges)

• JV First Place Solo- Captain Chloë Myles

• Ms. Cothrun also received the Outstanding Director award, which was exciting!

The McMillen Theater Department production of Don't Mention My Name by Fred Carmichael is less that 3 weeks away: February 27, 28 and March 1 at 7:00 pm.

A man shows up at a Bed and Breakfast and he has amnesia, but everyone he meets seems to know him, BUT as a different name. Join us at this hilarious event to find out just who he is and in fact, who everyone else is as well.

McMillen HS PTSA benefits as a result of the placement of a shoes and clothing donation bin at our school in the parking lot. We are paid by the pound for each pound of shoes, clothing, belts, purses, wallets, hats, caps, backpacks, hard toys and stuffed animals placed in our bin. Please help our PTSA raise funds for school projects, teacher training, new technology and to generally support the children who attend our school.
