📣 Here's What's Happening This Week:
I am looking forward to another great week of learning at MHW. I hope you had time to rest this weekend and possibly read a book with your child or listened to them read this weekend.
Monday- Veterans Day Program @ 9:00
Our 4th Graders will perform and you are in for a treat! You all are invited! If you are a veteran or will bring someone who served, remember we have special seating in our gym for ALL veterans.
Let your child know that you expect academic achievement!
1- Show confidence in your chld. Avoid responding to success with surprise. If your child comes home with a passing grade, act like you never had any doubt.
2- Keep mistakes in perspective. Never belittle your child for an error. Show that mistakes won't change your love for your child. Help them figure out what can be learned from the mistake.
3- Empower your child to take action when something goes wrong. When unfortunate things happen, help your child think about how to handle a similar situation in the future. Don't says it is bad luck or a mean teacher. This can make your child feel like a powerless victim.
