According to John Hattie's work, research and evidence we will dive into In May with guidance from AEA leaders Mike Stiemsa and Evan McCormick, the single biggest impact on student success happens when passionate professional educators get together and collaborate around best practice. That is why so much of our work this year has centered on the work that our PLC teams are doing to truly make us a Professional Learning Community focused on barriers to student success and improving our practice.

In summary, Hattie points out that many politicians and leaders in education are mis-guided and misleading in the areas they say we should be focusing on. We know that many things are out of our professional control so we should focus our attention, efforts, and resources on those areas that have been shown through research to most significantly impact student success. John Hattie outlines those areas well in the video below and the PD we will all participate in down the road.
