Principal's Post
What a busy week in Raider Nation!
We kicked things off with basketball games against SMS. Both of our girls' teams emerged victorious, and our 8th grade boys brought home a win as well. On Tuesday, despite the rainy weather, we had an amazing turnout for our Literacy Night event—thank you to all the families who braved the elements to attend! We also had the privilege of celebrating our talented Orchestra and Band students with some incredible performances throughout the week.
Our wrestling team put up a strong fight against CHMS but fell short. On Thursday, our basketball teams faced YMS, and both of our 8th grade teams won.
As we quickly approach the end of the 2nd semester, the school day becomes increasingly busy with quarterly assessments and final grades. This week, we had MAP testing to determine how much our students have grown since the Fall assessment and what interventions we need to put in place to continue pushing our students toward success.
Next week, starting Monday, students will take their Quarter 2 Benchmarks. The schedule is listed below. Please remember, Math and ELA assessments count as a major grade. If your student will miss any part of next week, please inform their teacher, school counselor, or grade-level administrator as soon as possible so they may take their Benchmark earlier as needed.
Benchmark Schedule:
- Monday, December 16 – ELA
- Tuesday, December 17 – Math
- Wednesday, December 18 – Science
- Thursday, December 19 – Social Studies
Next Week's Events:
- Monday, December 16 – Girls Basketball vs CMS (at home)
- Tuesday, December 17 – Wrestling at DCMS
- Thursday, December 19 – Boys Basketball vs OMS (at home)
- Friday, December 20 – Half Day--Dismissal at 11:45 a.m.
Thank you for your continued support!
