Many fourth and fifth grade multilingual learners in our district joined together for a field trip on Diamond Jack's Riverboat this week. They were able to view downtown Detroit and Canada from the Detroit River and learn about some historical landmarks in both countries!

Wildwood Student Council celebrated the end of the school year at the Detroit Tigers game! 😍

This summer the district is loading our school buses with books, games, literacy materials, school supplies and more for Pk-5th grade students! Throughout the summer, they will be stopping at Wildwood to hand out all of the FREE, cool stuff! While you are there, you can join in some fun literacy activities led by district staff!

They will be visiting Wildwood on:

As the school year winds down, we want to remind you of the transition from the Pandemic EBT (PEBT) program to the new Michigan Summer EBT Program. This initiative aims to support families purchasing food for their school-aged children throughout the summer months! Visit the link below for additional information!

Registration for kindergarten and Young 5s is still going on! You can register in the Wildwood Office, Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm, no appointment necessary. Call the school if you have any questions! The Corewell Health John Glenn Teen Clinic is open! We provide physicals, hearing and vision screenings, immunizations, sick care and asthma management. We will also have mental health services available in the near future. We are grant funded and accept all insurances, however, no patient will be turned away for inability to pay.

The clinic is located at John Glenn High School, 36105 Marquette, Westland, MI.

Wayne-Westland Community Schools has a Family Resource Center (FRC), which provides services to any student/family enrolled in our District, free of cost. Some of the services they provide are essential needs assistance, access to over 700 local resources, a Laundry Assistance Program and material items for those unable to afford them (emergency toiletries, socks/underwear, hats/gloves/scarves, etc.) They can also supply school supplies and backpacks year-round for any WWCS student. Please contact our Family Resource Center at 734-419-2709 or FRC@wwcsd.net. Our FRC also has a Digital Request for Services Form, which can be used to request assistance by filling out a simple form. Please contact the Family Resource Center directly with additional questions regarding their services.

You may also send in cash on Thursdays to give to your child's teacher to purchase extra slices of pizza.

In an effort to ensure the safety and security of its students, Wayne-Westland Community Schools is continuing with our safety procedure for field trip chaperones, and volunteers (Literary Corp, Watch Dogs, Coaches, etc.).

It is necessary for all individuals who will be chaperoning field trips or volunteering in a classroom to provide information for a criminal conviction/background check. All volunteers must complete the Wayne-Westland Community Schools Criminal History Consent Form for School Volunteer Application. This form must be completely filled out and signed by the volunteer, the administrator must sign this form, and a clear copy of the driver's license must be attached. If you have more than one child in the district, a single ICHAT request is sufficient; please list all of the schools where you will be chaperoning / volunteering at the top of the volunteer application. The form will be sent to the Human Resources and Operations office and checked through the ICHAT (Internet Criminal History Access Tool) database.
