Library Futures Series: Small Libraries Create Smart Spaces on 8/15
Join us from 9:00 - 10:30 at the Maury Loontjens Memorial Library in Narragansett for our third and final Library Futures Series of the summer. Mary Lou Carolan, Director of the Cornwall Public Library will discuss her participation in the Small Libraries Create Smart Spaces project and how you can activate your community through creative placemaking.

Proposed Minimum Standards for Institutional Libraries
OLIS and the Library Board of Rhode Island are proposing the adoption of new Minimum Standards for Institutional Libraries. Oral or written comments are welcome through August 31, 2018.

Small Libraries Create Smart Spaces is a WebJunction program that led 15 small and rural public libraries from across the country to reimagine and reconfigure their libraries into smart spaces, applying concepts of creative placemaking to engage their community and transform their libraries. Project participant Mary Lou Carolan will join us; she is a library-futurist, speaker, author, library director and endless idea generator for re-positioning libraries as community leaders and innovators...
