Dear Hayshire Families,

The Hayshire Art Show was a huge success! We had over 500 students and family members attend. Miss Cipolla did an outstanding job organizing our show. The children had a wonderful time showing off their artwork to family and friends!

Kindergarten registration is scheduled for Monday, April 14 and Tuesday, April 15. We are excited to welcome our students into the Class of 2038! Families need to pre-register online prior to attending this in-person event at Hayshire Elementary. The online scheduler is no longer open. Anyone still needing to register for a session on April 14 or 15 will have to call the office.

For the month of April, our special teachers and specialists had the honor of selecting Hayshire Students of the Month. Congratulations to Grey Spangler from Kindergarten and Ari Galloway from First Grade for receiving this recognition. Both children demonstrate values such as perseverance, character, community, and excellence! Grey and Ari were recognized at Monday evening's school board meeting.

Wednesday, April 16 is an early dismissal. Elementary students will be dismissed at 12:30 pm. There is no school for students on Thursday, April 17, Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21.

Ridiculous Nicholas visited Hayshire this week! Everyone learned about different science concepts. Everyone was wildly entertained! Ridiculous Nicholas taught our school about metamorphosis. He even turned into a butterfly! He taught us about camouflage, ecosystems, gravity, and Bernoulli's principle! Thank you to our Hayshire PTO for brining this assembly to our school!

This year, our third graders will take the ELA and Math PSSA. ELA will take place on April 23, 24, and 25. The Math portion will take place on April 29 and 30. PSSA letters were sent home with our third graders. On Wednesday, April 9, our third graders participated in a special assembly to prepare for the PSSA.

May Day is just around the corner. Mark your calendar for May 3 from 10:00 to 2:00 pm. This is a wonderful family event and Hayshire tradition! Our PTO will have games, raffles, face painting, book fair, and so much more! Please consider signing up to volunteer at May Day or donate an item. Click on the button below, May Day Volunteers.

Presale Tickets are available through Friday, April 25. The event tickets are 25 cents each. During the presale, for every 20 tickets you order for $5.00, you will receive an additional 4 free tickets. Tickets will be available for pick up at May Day at the ticket sales table. • Our next meeting day is May 1 at 6:00 pm in the Hayshire library.
• May 5-9 is Teacher Appreciation Week. PTO is collecting donations to provide food for our teachers/staff throughout the week. If you would like to donate, please click on this link.
