Summer 2023
It is almost summer! ESC Region 11 has all your professional development needs covered. You can visit the Professional Development Calendar for a complete list of sessions, and check below for featured sessions for educators who support three-to-five-year-old students with disabilities.
Professional Learning
Join us for the Building Blocks of Social and Emotional Development series. Based on the research and work of the National Center for Pyramid Model Innovations, this series will prepare early childhood educators for the important role of supporting young children's healthy social and emotional development. Pick and choose sessions according to topic, or attend all eight for a comprehensive framework for promoting behavioral outcomes for young children.
The CIRCLE Preschool Foundations Training is an interactive, research-based introduction to the CIRCLE activities. The two-day program provides preschool teachers of three-to five-year-old children with an overview of young children's early language and literacy development based on the most recent scientific research. Upon returning to their classrooms, participants have a deeper understanding of early literacy development and a wealth of ideas for implementation.
Conscious Discipline is coming to ESC Region 11! Participants will examine their own models for discipline and discuss how different child behaviors can trigger their own emotional response with the guidance of a certified Conscious Discipline instructor. We will explore child behaviors and the underlying meanings of those behaviors. Participants will leave with new ideas and usable strategies for their important work with young children. There are a few seats remaining, so grab your spot today!
Join Anne Meeker Watson, director of Sing Play Love, to learn how music can maximize positive academic and motor outcomes for all children, including those who are atypically developing. Anne will also discuss the importance of motor and sensory experiences. Participants receive the "I Love Learning Educator Kit" with registration, which includes five picture books and printed visual supports to accompany each book.
