SMMS Back To School Notes

Please review this updated calendar carefully, as there have been many updates.

Please adhere to the dress calendar below.

Arrival and dismissal will mostly be the same as last year. Videos will be sent out in the coming days.

One big change: Segundo (St. John's) Morning Care will not begin until 7:30. Therefore, all Segundo students arriving before 7:30 am should arrive at Primero, and from there they will be shuttled to Segundo.

All parents are to review the Bus Handbook and complete the permission form, as all students will, at least once during the school year, travel on the bus. Both of these will be sent in the coming days.

We are excited to inform you that we will have a new structure for our Athletic Department.

Mr. Christopher Zamora will serve as Athletic Director, and Mr. Gerard Muñoz as Assistant Athletic Director. Both have years of teaching experience and AD experience in Catholic Schools.

Additionally, we will have an Athletic Department Meet and Greet/Orientation on Wednesday, 7/24, at 6:00 pm in Jubilee Hall A on the Primero campus. If you cannot make it, no worries, as there will be more opportunities to learn more about SMMS Athletics before the first day of school.

This night is for all who are interested in learning more about the many great things happening at SMMS, such as CYO, folklorico and más. It is open to all, from new families to veteran families.

This will be on Friday, August 16th in Jubilee Hall, Primero campus.

Are you still looking for a camp the week of July 29th? Need something to keep your kids busy before school starts? Join our award winning Maverick cheer squad for a summer cheer camp! No experience needed (non-cheer members are welcome to attend!) and open to all ages! The day will be filled with cheers, dances, and jumps, as well as fun games and activities. There will be a Back To School Mass on Sunday, 8/11 at 2:30 pm. Meet The Teacher will be in the classrooms for/at Primero (Pre-K3-2nd) from 1:15 pm – 2:15 pm and for/at Segundo (3rd-8th) from

4:00-5 p.m.

Come and learn about what makes SMMS such a special place, and how we work together to advance our mission. You may attend on either August 6th or August 12th; the orientation is geared for parents/guardians so we ask that just adults attend.

Details on dropping off supplies will be shared in the coming days.

Get ready to attend our Tommy Hilfiger School Uniform try on event Monday 7/22-Thursday 7/25 between the hours of 5pm-7pm. This will give all families the ability to try on before ordering your uniform items for the upcoming year.

At this time you will also have the ability to visit our gently loved uniform sale and find amazing deals as well as purchase other items from our spirit store.

Parents may come in on the first day of school to drop off their children at their classroom.

There will be an extended arrival time: until 8:30 at Primero and until 8:45 at Segundo.

We are excited to unveil a new Mission Statement and School Year Theme.

Thanks to the many who actively participated in the Mission Revision; it truly was a total school community endeavor.
