What a great time we had at the I. M. Terrell Club Expo during lunchtime on Friday. Students were able to learn about all of the great clubs we have have here on I. M. Terrell's campus!

Did you loose credit in any of your Spring 2024 classes due to excessive absences? If so, you can begin making up those absences in Credit Restoration! See schedule with dates and times below. If you are unsure, you can check with your ADVISORY teacher or with Dr. White.

Also, if you experienced extenuating circumstances in Spring 2024 and would like for the Attendance Committee to review your request, please complete and submit an Attendance Petition and return it to Dr. White by Friday, September 13, 2024.

Students, parents and visitors will enter through the main entrance of I. M. Terrell Academy known as Building One. Students, parents and visitors will no longer enter the school through the Fine Arts building known as Building Three unless a performance is occurring within that building.

I hope you are doing well. I am writing to request your assistance if you are dropping of or picking up your child before and after school.

I have included a map with a few outlines and request moving forward so that we can keep our kids safe and prevent traffic jams or accidents.

TOPS

• Color: Any color is permitted.
• Style: Collared (polo or Oxford) shirts or blouses, mock turtlenecks or turtlenecks and t-shirts that are within dress code guidelines.

BOTTOMS

• Color: Any color is permitted.
• Style: Pants, shorts, skirts, skorts, capris or jumpers are acceptable; shorts, skirts, and skorts must be at least finger-tip length

SHOES

• Style: Athletic shoes, loafers, dress shoes or other closed-toe shoes as well as open-toe/open-heel shoes are acceptable.

Sagging pants.

Visible undergarments.

Clothing considered too revealing (bare midriffs, tube tops, tank tops, cut-off shirts, low-cut tops, crop tops, see-through shirts, fishnet clothing).

Clothing with lewd, offensive, vulgar, or obscene pictures, emblems or language.

Clothing with advertising that depicts tobacco products, alcoholic beverages, drugs or any substance prohibited under Board Policy FNCF (LEGAL)

Gang-related clothing, accessories or jewelry bearing signs, insignias, colors or symbols.

Sleepwear, visible drawstrings, house shoes.

Except for verified religious clothing, head gear such as hats, scarves, bandanas, do-rags or shower caps.

Combs, sunglasses or grills.

Accessories or that could be classified as dangerous or as a potential weapon, i.e., chains, spiked necklaces or bracelets, and the like.

Great news! Advisory classes have been determined and students will be divided up amongst teams. Advisory will be very different this school year and will be 30 minutes EVERYDAY. More details will be provided during Welcome Back week on how Advisory assignments will be tied to the district MTSS initiative.
